You may want to flip the order and watch the Buffy episodes before Angel. It’s how they aired and you should watch Buffy 5x07 before Angel 5x07.

2023-08-23 19:23:59 +0000 UTCYes it was pretty odd and out of nowhere, I read it as it’s the way of the show telling us without explicitly saying it that buffy herself had been sexualizing spike at least subconsciously. It was one of those Freudian slips.

But Buffy commenting to Riley that if she wanted a man with superpowers - then she'd be dating Spike.. it's a really really odd comment to make out of nowhere. Especially since its pretty much unprompted. It's one of those things you notice on a rewatch.
