Please dont watch Angel. I find it really takes away from the buffy reactions and its really NOT that good.

2023-06-19 05:57:30 +0000 UTCConcerning the opening credits of Angel: if you are aware of the the other main character next to Angel, thereβs not much to spoil. But if you want to skip it, the credits go from 03:30 to 04:20.

2023-06-18 16:21:51 +0000 UTCRegarding Angel, I'll say that it's worth a watch, but it is NOT mandatory. You'll have no difficulty following the buffy plot without watching Angel, and my first time through I watched all of Buffy followed by all of Angel. I didn't bounce back and forth. Whatever you decide to do will work just fine for you :) That said, Angel does continue and dramatically deepen the stories of several characters we know throughout its run, Angel himself not least of all. There are 2 episodes in S1 Angel that I think are as close to necessary for a buffy viewer as they can be without ACTUALLY being necessary. And there's some good stuff throughout. I'm saying all of this because I honestly disagree with the larger buffy fandom when it comes to the spinoff. If you do decide to put it off for later or skip it, you're going to have droves of people having strokes at you, saying you HAVE to watch it to keep up with Buffy... This just isn't true. Watching Angel is worth it, but you aren't committing an unforgivable error if you just go with Buffy. Buffy's lows are higher than Angel's lows (pretty much objectively.... Angel is much more uneven in quality than buffy. Buffy is like a 6/10 - 11/10 throughout, while Angel is a 3/10 - 11/10 throughout) and Buffy's highs are higher than Angel's highs (this one is more of a debate. When Angel is good, it's very very good). Saying a lot of words to basically just say.... Watch both. :P it'll please the fandom, and it's worth it imo. But just know that every time you get a YouTube comment saying you MUUUUUSTTTT watch Angel in the correct order with Buffy.... I'll be here rolling my eyes, muttering to myself, "no she doesn't...." :P

2023-06-18 04:59:44 +0000 UTCTo add to the Angel commentsβ―ββ―I enjoyed the show a lot and emphatically recommend watching it in parallel with the rest of Buffy. There are more substantial crossovers between the two shows than just a few cameos, several major characters from Buffy continue their story lines in Angel.

2023-06-18 01:33:51 +0000 UTCAngel's series is different from Buffy's and has a very different vibe. There are reasons you might enjoy it, and there are some cross-over episodes, but I feel that those episodes are more of an attempt by the network to boost Angel's ratings and not really necessary to understand and enjoy Buffy's series. When these first aired I watched a few Angel episodes but it didn't appeal to me.

2023-06-18 00:40:33 +0000 UTCI can't remember if you said you were interested in watching Angel but I hope you do give it a shot. I could think of at least one reason you might enjoy it just based off your Buffy reactions. Plus if watched side-by-side it does add some context to some Buffy episodes.

2023-06-17 23:31:38 +0000 UTCThat was great!! If you're going to watch Angel the shows do connect. You can watch they way they aired, 1 episode of Buffy followed by 1 episode of Angel or there are watch lists that allow you to follow mini arcs in one show before going back to the other. Also you should try not to watch the opening credits of Angel's 1st episode to avoid spoilers
