2023-07-24 00:37:53 +0000 UTCYeh I don’t know what’s that about, I guess she’s still a teen so if the writers take away love interests and stuff they wouldn’t have much else to work with, not that there wouldn’t be much else in the life of a teenage girl but it’s not like they could show scenes of her attending classes and stuff😂it wouldn’t be as fun tv. Where in angel they have more material because it’s more of an adult show maybe. But still, if they want to have her someone at least they could make him more interesting😭

Throughout the series she always had love interests around and they couldn't have her just be alone. At least when Angel was on Buffy, he was an unoriginal love interest with a super interesting backstory that added a lot to the plot. But vanilla guys like Riley adds nothing. Somehow, it is always super easy in TV shows to have a male main character be alone for a long while, but when it is a female main character, she always has to have a love interest constantly.

2023-07-22 01:16:56 +0000 UTCOne more thing; I think when they added him as a regular they automatically told us we have to like this guy, instead of letting us get to know him well first, but I feel like after Parker we all got a bit defensive in terms of trusting a new potential love interest for buffy, and since he’s presented as one, it’s just hard to get on board with him, especially if they just shove it in the credits before we can actually decide if he’s worth rooting for. So I think it was a bad move on the writers part to make him a regular so soon.

2023-07-22 01:05:31 +0000 UTCI’m excited for next ep!!! I missed Faith, her relationship with buffy is far more interesting and entertaining than the one buffy has with Riley. Every time I rewatch this show I try so bad to like Riley and I end up disliking him every time😂 I know he wasn’t even that bad in this episode but I just can’t take too much of their scenes, it’s just boring, I think the main issue I have is that they gave him too much screen time and made him a main character too soon after just having introduced him, I could have accepted him more if he was a supporting character but I don’t think he has earned yet to be in the credits with the characters that we got to know and love, and especially because his acting with all the respect to the actor who plays him, is not on the same level as the others cast members, and anya is far more interesting and I would have voted for her to be added to the regulars instead, we’ve also known her for longer so it would have felt earned in my opinion. Ok, rant over, sorry😂
