This season is rough because buffy is going through depression, it’s really hard to watch. “My emotions give me power” - buffy to Kendra in season 2. Now she lost all of it, she had found peace and she was forced back to fight again, and she just can’t keep fighting. She resents her friends for bringing her back and you’re right, she and spike are getting closer, because she feels closer to him now after having experienced death. But I’m glad it’s done this way because this is the only way I could accept them potentially getting together😂 I mean, I do want them toghether, but it wouldn’t have made any sense otherwise because spike is still evil, but after everything buffy has gone through, she needs all the comfort she can get, and if she finds it in spike, so be it. Also their chemistry is incredible. Willow is losing herself in the magic, or more so in the power that comes with the magic, so that’s also something really interesting to be exploring this season. As for the three idiots, I can’t, I fucking can’t with them, I’m so angry and disappointed at Johnathan.
