This episode is a rough one. I feel the most sadness for Dawn. She is suffering emotionally and Buffy can’t get past her own problems to see her little sister is all alone. Buffy Buffy Buffy…where do we even start. She is using Spike. We saw it somewhat similarly to the situation with Riley. She enjoys sex with them but beyond that not much else emotionally. Does Buffy love Spike? No. I don’t think the Spuffy dynamic is ok at all because Spike is in love with Buffy and convinced himself she feels the same.

This is the episode where the three idiots especially warren stop being a joke and start being serious villains. I actually enjoy the fact that this season doesn’t have a big bad for a change, because it’s already tough as it is, if there was another glory it would have been too much, but I enjoy that we have more of a deep dive into the characters instead. As for weather buffy loves spike or not, it’s one of the questions left unopened, i guess you could assume what you want, i think she does, but I don’t think it really matters in this season. I think she does love him and she is using him at the same time, that’s why she’s beating herself up so much, she doesn’t want to have those feelings for a vampire, who’s “everything she’s supposed to be against”, buffy last seasons would have never allowed this to happen, and that’s why she was disappointed when Tara told her she didn’t come back wrong
