This one is okay. It's certainly not top tier or anything. If memory serves me correct the BEST thing that came out of this episode is this hilarious prank/blooper with Lucy. Definitely one of my favorite bloopers ever.

2024-10-13 20:38:58 +0000 UTCOkay, I did NOT like this episode. I didn't hate it. Just the whole con thing felt off to me plus I can't imagine Xena liking that guy even though he's cute. I get it with Marcus, and Draco and even Ares lol. Actually I really loved the idea of her and Ares' obsessive self when I was younger. (I got over it.) But this guy? He's too... y'know. I felt bad for Joker but it's nice to see Xena and Gabrielle have his back.

Rob Tapert, the lead showrunner, and Lucy’s husband, hated having to do this. I’m not saying they were all team X&G but they would have certainly have preferred that than this BoTW shit. Anything but that.

2024-10-13 17:40:24 +0000 UTCI don’t believe they’re a couple until the last 2 seasons because I think it makes more sense that way. Really for me the debate is whether they were polyamorous/monogamous than were they/weren’t they. That’s more interesting.

2024-10-13 17:39:50 +0000 UTCThis isn't a top tier episode for me, but I don't believe there's such a thing as a bad episodes of Xena in the first three seasons. ... Stig Eldred, who appeared more frequently on Hercules, played Titus here. I used to be almost amazed that a New Zealand actor could do such a good American accent; then I found out he's an American actor who LIVES in New Zealand. 😁 ... The relationship between Xena and Gabrielle really was always meant to be open to interpretation, and for me, even if Xena and Gabby WERE intimate in "that" way, which doesn't bother me, I still don't believe they are a "couple," because I think they have a different relationship, and it's not actually a problem if Xena or Gabrielle get romantically involved with some guy, which was skirted here. ... Joxer took one of the worst beatings any character on this show has ever taken. ... Pretty sure Renee O'Connor's ankle injury was real this time.
