So excited for the rest of the season. My 3 favourite eps of the season are still to come

On the whole: I'm just sayin' that it's SO good to see all these episodes again. I like this one, too. Seeing a little bit of evil Xena come out it always fun to watch. If I recall, the rest of this season is mostly pretty awesome.

I like the themes this episode sets up. Especially how close Xena's darkness is to the surface still and how quickly she could revert back to her old ways. Also the start of one of my favorite dynamics...Gabrielle & Ares and the good angel vs bad devil role they play as Xena's conscious.

Yeah, you do see some of Xena’s more violent and brutal moves from this point onwards in the show now they’re going into the dark and heavy.

I've always liked this episode. Some more information about Xena's past, and a look at how close to the edge of darkness Xena really is. And Gabby proves her loyalty even goes so far as... whacking her friend across the back with a pitchfork. Whatever it takes! More Ares is always good, and we also get two brutal offensive moves by Xena: shooting the blow gun in reverse and ramming Kirilus' head into the hilt of the sword. I'm glad you enjoyed this one.

Oh man. ‘Ties That Bind’. Great episode.
The return of Ares. Using another manipulative tactic to win Xena over. I wonder if anyone watching for the first time has predicted the plot twist of Artrius being Ares before it happened.
The thing is Artrius isn’t even the real name of Xena’s father so you’d think she would have got a heads up from that. Xena may not believe everything she’s told but she can be quite gullible sometimes when it comes to her own emotions and preconceived notions of belief and perception.
Ares is starting to figure out that Xena’s “pesky little friend” holds more power over Xena than he thinks. I think it is interesting how Gabrielle practically had to SNAP that pitch fork across Xena’s back to snap Xena out of her rage-haze. That she had to meet violence with violence to get Xena to see sense. That talking just wouldn’t do.
