Yeah, that’s why Kassidy isn’t uploading Xena to YouTube anymore and made it strictly a Patreon exclusive. I think it works better as an exclusive anyway.
Can’t wait for you to read my thesis. Please provide feedback if you can.

You know, I didn't even think about the copyright stuff. That is the same with Charmed and CBS. They are super strict and it is so ridiculous.
I will absolutely check it out. I honestly believe that since they had to work around censorship so much it led to a much deeper and incredible connection in the story. There are so many layers and types of love: screams soulmates. Very interested in your thesis. And they totally did straightbait lol.

Most reactors don’t touch it because it’s very difficult to keep the reactions up on the platform because NBC are shit hot on it and immediately take them down.
By the way, I wrote a thesis on Xena and Gabrielle that explains how their relationship goes way beyond the normal WLW romance and therefore it’s appropriate that it’s not explicitly depicted as one.
I also wrote a post about how what they did was more straight-baiting.
Both are on my Tumblr.

I cannot express how happy I am that you are reacting to this show. I wish it was more of a staple that reactors interacted with. One thing I wanted to touch on, that I am not sure anyone else has mentioned, is the style of portraying Xena and Gabrielle's relationship that this show will go with. You have mentioned queer baiting in your previous reactions, but I just want to iterate that this show isn't what that modern definition is. Rather it suffers from network censorship and has to create subtext or wild scenarios in which our two leading ladies can portray the love they have. The creators of the show, in addition to the actors, writers, and directors, all speak about how this show is a love story of these two women. An epic one I might add. But because in the 90s and early 2000s they couldn't get away with that, they did things that would work around network censorship. They straight baited in fact in a lot of ways and as the show progresses they get more and more obvious with what they are doing. I only wanted to give insight into this because queer baiting is when you say "hmm these characters could do something" and then never do. This show very clearly establishes that these women fall in love and are the centerpiece for the story. Which I feel gives you way more to look forward to. :)

The greatest emotional chemistry between two actors I’ve ever seen in TV art/entertainment. You really can’t beat it. Same-sex or otherwise.

This is still something to this day that I love writing about because the differences really are quite striking.

The relationship between Xena and Gabrielle has reached new heights following the finale because Xena has realized something very important at the event of Gabrielle’s near death. You’ll see what I mean by that as you to continue to watch the show. Xena has made a significant revelation about the way she feels about Gabrielle and it’s more than friendship. But the question to ask is in what way is it more?

HIPPOCRATES: “I, too, hope I will one day make a great healer.”
It’s thanks to Hippocrates and Democritis that we have modern medicine as it is today. When the focus switched from religion to medical, healing and human welfare in saving and changing lives improved vastly. And it’s amazing to think that in this Universe, Xena and Gabrielle taught them all that that they would one day become great healers and life savers themselves.
I wonder if anyone here is a doctor or a surgeon and could tell us what all the medical and surgical procedures showcased and performed in this episode are called because I know they’re real procedures. One of which was also performed in a previous episode but failed because mankind had lost its ability to heal itself. That’s something that’s not so well known about medical health in the Western hemisphere. The human body does most of the work. Medicine and medical treatment only help it along in that endeavour. Explains why they push drugs so much in the USA. The body can heal itself but without the aid of drugs, it’s slower and a lot more painful. But sometimes drugs aren’t even necessary and the body should be left to work on itself alone. Even if painkillers relieve suffering.
No spoilers but there’s a scene later on in the show where atomic theory is postulated by Gabrielle, technically making her the founder of atomic physics instead of Democritis. Or at least the philosopher of it. That’s really cool as well. That of a female being an Ancient Greek philosopher because they existed. They just weren’t historically recorded because men ruled the roost back then. Still do in some ways.

Xena invents every important medical procedure known to man this finale lol.
It is super interesting to contrast how they reacted to eachother's deaths. Gabrielle was quite composed, subdued, & quiet when she thought Xena died, and on the other hand Xena absolutely loses her sh*t when she thinks Gabrielle has died.
On to season two!

This is a very good season finale, and the highlight is Gabrielle's near-death experience, and Xena's loss of emotional control. And, yeah, the return of Ephiny! A friend of mine had to deliver both of her children by C-section. At least they were two-legged. ... Aesclepius actually cares more about mortals than Xena think. ... Ooh, season two is on the agenda.

Imo Lucy was amazing, her expression of despair was on point...and Renee O' Connor just keeps getting better. The chemistry between these makes the show seriously, eventhrough the weaker episodes, I can't wait for you to see some of the future ones seriously that chemistry never falters I swear, and second season starts off a bit meh, but def gets better quicker than the first does. There's wome amazing ones in that season as well as well as some ehh...ones
