I've always kind of preferred this type of storytelling. If done well, you can get all kinds of plot, character development and different styles of episodes over the course of a show. Most of today's TV doesn't do it for me the same way this show does.

2024-07-06 00:57:54 +0000 UTCI also gotta say I'm always so excited when these come out. I keep peeking at the titles for the rest of this season. If I remember correctly we're on a train of really great episodes for all kinds of reasons.

2024-07-05 22:48:50 +0000 UTCAww. This episode is just so warm and sweet. What a fun light hearted holiday romp! I remember the Hercules episode that was tied to this, but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as this one.

2024-07-05 22:08:07 +0000 UTCSo excited whenever a new xena pops up. I find I'm enjoying these light hearted episodes so much more on rewatch with you. I'm still very excited for the more serialised/ intense episodes. But it's fun watching these ones that I haven't watched in a long time. Honestly the relationship/chemistry between xena and gabrielle is just so fun to watch, even the low stakes episodes are thoroughly enjoyable

2024-07-04 19:46:49 +0000 UTCXena never considers herself a romantic person but guaranteed the majority of romantic dialogue in the show comes from her. Especially when it’s Gabrielle.

2024-07-04 19:25:40 +0000 UTCI know right. I was quite surprised when she got the Senticles/Santa Claus thing so early. And yeah, the Xena emotional whiplash is also one of the main reasons I love this show too. It’s so versatile. You’d get nothing like it now because people are so used to a certain tone for the whole show. Shame. Xena is both a product of its time and timeless. Just like Buffy and Charmed and The X Files.

2024-07-04 19:24:36 +0000 UTCThe famous Xena emotional whiplash, I love this series because of that 😆😆 the further it goes the more aggressive it gets

2024-07-04 18:07:03 +0000 UTCLol you called everything in this episode. 🤣. Not that it wasn't obvious, but it's definitely a feel good, this show has a habit of doing a few serious episodes then a few lighthearted feel goods. Then episodes....that well could be better lol, but I think that's in all the shows. I forget the actual date this episode was released, but if it wasn't around Christmas it might have been one of the ones they had to switch around when Lucy was injuried. In the future you will see them playing alot with all types of religions and history as we know it lol. I loved that about this show, it was almost like they tried to fill in the holes of our history with Xena lol.

2024-07-04 17:49:14 +0000 UTCAw, such a festive episode. Xena is an excellent listener and even better gift giver. Lucky Gabrielle!

2024-07-04 17:42:17 +0000 UTCThis episode casually fits together with the corresponding Hercules Christmas episode, "A Star To Guide Them," although the only crossover element is found with the nice family Xena and Gabrielle encounter at the end. Of course, there's also the Herc marionette, which I love. Sure to have been a top seller for the holidays, or it would have been if Senticles made more than one. ... I wasn't sure how this one would go over with you, with its fairly silly (on purpose) fight, among other things, and I'm really glad you ended up loving it.
