Alpha Version 0.4 is now LIVE!

Changelog:

• The full and complete script of the game is now implemented!
• Title screen buttons customized
• New music added: Wedding March
• Slight improvements to the textbox user interface

Known "Bugs":

• Gallery does not function
• Minor typos may be present in the script
• Words in italics may appear to not have spaces
• Voice Acting, SFX has not been implemented yet
• Mac users using versions before Ventura 13 are having issues loading the game

Patrons at the $5 A Little Bite tier and higher can access the alpha here. If you're having trouble accessing your early access copy, don't buy it! Please message us privately on Patreon instead and we'll custom generate a key for you, or help troubleshoot your Patreon - itch.io connection if possible.

Having trouble opening the game? Try installing it via the Itch App, which acts as a launcher for all of your games! Our team is currently squashing the bugs listed above but if you encounter any game crashing errors, please be sure to file a proper bug report as well.

As promised, the entire script of the game is now playable in the latest alpha version of The Groom of Gallagher Mansion (albeit, a bit rough around the edges, especially towards the end). A huge thanks to Oriana for getting this update in! But before we continue this dev report...

Spoiler Policy

The Groom of Gallagher Mansion is SnaccPop Studios' first complete story, and soon to be complete game. We recognize that a major part of our audience's activity involves theorizing, drawing fanart, writing fanfiction, and all other sorts of creative endeavors.

For the sake of giving your peers a fair chance to enjoy our team's work, we humbly request that all spoilers for The Groom of Gallagher Mansion be kept off public social media channels until after 2 weeks have passed from the official release of the game. Public social media channels include (but aren't limited to):

• Reddit
• Mastodon
• Cohost
• Twitch
• Youtube

In addition, please don't leave any spoilers in the comments section here, on itch.io, or other static public websites.

We can't do much if spoilers do end up appearing in public, but please think about how you'd feel if something you were waiting to experience yourself was posted online and you happened to see it. I'm sure many of us have had this happen to ourselves this before, so we're asking for your courtesy ahead of time.

The best place to talk about The Groom of Gallagher Mansion's early access builds with your fellow fans would be the official SnaccPop Studios Patreon Discord server, where we have already set up a Discord Forum for this purpose. Voice Acting Progress

Our VAs have finished recording, but the reason why we haven't implemented voice acting into the game yet is because depending on the method of implementation, it may cause extra work for Oriana.

[Naninovel's] autovoice can work, but if we change the script (any of it, not just the narration/dialogue) things will get out of whack.

If I do it manually then any script changes shouldn't matter afterwards.

We know the voice acting implementation has been requested from the very first alpha build, so we're asking for your opinion now: would you rather hear the voice acting now while we're still polishing up the presentation of the rest of the game, or should we wait? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Team Additions

As the game inches towards completion, we've added TundraFlame to our team as our Audio Editor and asked Terra from the SDJ department to help Oriana set up some parts of the UI! TundraFlame has already shown us what a little audio magic can do by adding some ghostly reverb to some of Elias' lines, thanks to a genius suggestion from Ori. We'll be sure to give you a preview in a future post soon!
