We just say this season is bad because the following seasons are so much better

2021-02-15 15:47:34 +0000 UTCIt’s more dark vs light than good vs evil. Dark being evil and light being good is more subjective. And ATLA just had a different type of threat to the world’s balance. If anybody messed up the overall balance it was Wan when he separated Raava and Vaatu, not Korra. It seems like since then true/complete balance isn’t even possible as one will be in control instead of them perpetually keeping each other busy,

2021-02-11 18:05:52 +0000 UTCI hate book two because it christianizes the philosophy of avatar. Montana captures this perfectly when she calls the dark spirits demons. That’s just not how the philosophy of this universe was meant to be. A big point in avatar was balance, not good and evil. Raava and Vaatu even existing ruins that. Aang had to restore balance, but here Korra is fighting to destroy balance.

Not saying that I personally hate it, just saying the general thoughts(mostly). But I still hope this does not influence in your opinions and reaction, since it would be nice to see your real response to what is about to happen.

2021-02-09 20:42:22 +0000 UTCThe hate Book 2 gets is so overblown. Book 2 is honestly my favorite book to rewatch. The animation of all of these action sequences are just amazing and I love the growth of Korra this season which most people tend to ignore. Glad your enjoying it! I’ve seen it as a common thing with reactors that everyone tells them book 2 sucks so much that when they watch it, it just seems even better because they were expecting garbage. So yeah, I don’t know what they’re watching but their crazy lol.

2021-02-08 08:46:31 +0000 UTCI agree and I especially have a problem with Katara being reduced to “the healing hut lady” due to her whole fight with Pakku where she fought against that label. Yes she can heal but she can also fight and although the torch is being passed to Korra’s team avatar she could have still had even just one fight scene. Or just sparring with Korra even

2021-02-08 04:09:13 +0000 UTCIn regard to Katara fighting, it's a frequent criticism of the show that those who are still alive from Aang's generation (and I won't spoil which other ones are still alive) generally never fight despite being younger than Bumi was in The Last Airbender.

2021-02-08 03:17:10 +0000 UTCI personally find that the issue people have with by Korra in comparison between ALTA is that everything is more complex. Sometimes too much in a way that’s more of a hindrance but for the most part it’s done in a great way actually. It does this amazing job of diving deeper into the ALTA message that everyone has light and darkness in them (when Aang learned about Sozin and Roku being friends). Except in Korra they drive that point home in a more Game of Thrones style, where they show that duality in ALL characters, including the “good guys”.

2021-02-08 02:45:03 +0000 UTCSuper enjoyed your reactions to this episode. I honestly loved the dip back in time to learn about the Avatar’s origins and early human life in this universe. Glad to hear you guys are still loving Korra. Can’t wait to watch the next episode. :)

2021-02-08 02:38:32 +0000 UTCAlso sidebar the visual of all the dark spirits swarming about reminded me of the scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban where SPOILER Harry and Sirius are at the lake with the dementors END SPOILER. Idk if that was maybe what gave you the weird feeling as that’s what it was for me

2021-02-08 02:22:21 +0000 UTCI definitely disagree with people who say this season is bad, however, I think it is comparatively worse than the other Korra seasons. That’s not saying much though as all the seasons are amazing and one is gonna have to be the worst even if it’s still really good

2021-02-08 02:20:02 +0000 UTCI literally cannot wait to see your reactions to Korra’s happenings
