2020-10-28 08:57:32 +0000 UTCFun fact, the finale as a whole was accidentally the first full episode of Avatar I ever watched (because my sister was watching it and I wanted to spend time with her), and with absolutely no context, I sobbed through most of the episode, beginning with Zuko and Iroh’s reunion. I had no idea what Zuko had done, but the way Iroh immediately embraced and forgave him didn’t need context to resonate with me so strongly. I remember thinking “I don’t know what’s happening, but this is so beautiful.” Then I went back and watched the show from the beginning and cried even more.
