Also the bender issue is not that they can’t bend and benders can. It’s not that benders are strong and non benders aren’t. It’s that most industrial and modern age jobs are bending dependent and bending criminals haras non benders and extort them for money. And that most of the governing bodies of the world are run by benders. I’m not saying Amon is right or justified In His actions. But it makes sense that common nonbenders would believe in his ideology. Also it’s unfair and not realistic to tell every non bender that they have to work really hard to learn a fighting technique to be in equal footing with benders socially and economically. Not every person is made to be a fighter. And again, the forgetting part isn’t the problem. It’s the power dynamic

I also always thought it was weird he wasn’t a hybrid animal but it never even occurred to me that there probably ARE ATLA universe-indigenous species. I literally never noticed Appa doesn’t have a hybrid nomenclature, nor does Momo. That’s wild. Wow.

2020-11-23 05:11:51 +0000 UTCEqualists using weapons vs Benders with their bending: consider this, the electric weapon that he is using is essentially powered by benders because more than likely it has to be charged and further it offers a distinct advantage over bending because a bender will get tired and unable to bend where as a non-bender could just keep zapping.

Also think about the fact that non benders may also feel oppressed in the workforce because there are obviously jobs they can't do, as shown when Mako and the other lightning benders were working in the factory
