Opinion on episode released.
Added 2020-12-02 22:33:13 +0000 UTCSo guys, I don’t want to get too personal but someone in my family has passed away, and I’m doing ok, coping well, but wondering legitimately if it would be detrimental to my channels momentum if I postponed the Thursday premiere to Sunday. I could pretty easily get this video out for tommorow, but with the funeral on Saturday I don’t think I’ll be able to get the video done in time for Sunday unless I don’t sleep.
Be brutally honest, in a business sense, whether y’all think this would be ok, and if so, how should I go about informing my audience. I know this is a wierd post, but after y’all’s kind words on my last post I thought I’d reach out to ask. Hope y’all are well

First of all, my absolute condolences. I'm so sorry. But it's ok to take time if you need to! I also lost a family member recently. My mother passed away in October. It's a very difficult thing to deal with. You absolutely need to focus on your family and yourself during this time of immense pain and sorrow. Don't feel that you need to force yourself to do things!

2020-12-03 17:06:17 +0000 UTCFirst, I'm really sorry for your loss. Second, personal life always goes before work. I've had some stuff going on a while back and the first thing I did was say to my team, guys I'm gonna take a little step back. And they understood. I think we've all been there, so we understand.

2020-12-03 04:56:36 +0000 UTCHonestly at this point forget about the business side of things. Focus on yourself and your family so that you can later focus on posting content that you are proud to post and not rushed to meet a deadline. I’m sorry for your loss, these are difficult times and i do hope everything goes well you guys. Best wishes!
2020-12-03 03:58:44 +0000 UTCsorry to hear about the loss, my condolences. I've seen other YouTubers post, like a "we need to talk" brief vid that explains the situation. People will of course be understanding, I don't have any insight as to how the YouTube momentum will be affected but you're doing great and YouTube isn't going anywhere. Your fans will be here when you get back :) Take care, peace & love
Sir
2020-12-03 03:54:29 +0000 UTCYes agreed, take your time. If you are worried about YouTube maybe post a quick what’s going on for people are aren’t patrons. That of course isn’t required. I think people will jump right back on board when you get back. I know I will. All the best and my condolences.

2020-12-03 03:48:27 +0000 UTCTake whatever time you need to. We get it, life happens and sometimes emergencies and other situations come up and it affects your usual schedule. If you don't think you can reasonably have it done by Sunday unless you do something drastic like not sleep or eat until it's done, it's fine to push it back. We understand. As for letting people know, I think putting a post in your community tab on YouTube would work fine

2020-12-03 03:15:42 +0000 UTCI am so sorry for your loss! ♥️ everyone will understand. I would say wait for Sunday as more people, but because Thursday is tomorrow and you haven’t made an announcement yet, I’d post tomorrow!
2020-12-03 01:48:32 +0000 UTCI’m pretty sure almost all of your patreon fans follow you cause they realy like you, so I’d say you’re completely fine to do that. If someone doesn’t understand the circumstances then they can speak to me!

2020-12-03 00:13:30 +0000 UTCI absolutely agree. We want you at your best. And you should never force yourself to keep going if your not up to it. Your well-being matters a lot more than any Youtube project. Your fans will understand, because that’s what makes us real supporters of you. Don’t rush yourself or hold yourself to any deadline. Take all the time you need.

2020-12-03 00:11:55 +0000 UTCI agree with Courtnie, just put a little announcement at either the beginning or end of tomorrow’s episode. Just so that people will have the heads up about Sunday. I hope that your family is doing well in this dark time. My condolences
CJ
2020-12-02 23:38:31 +0000 UTCWhatever is easier for you. I might say post tomorrow and have an announcement in the video that Sunday would be delayed so that people won’t be expecting a video. But seriously, do what’s best for you. I’m so sorry for you loss ❤️

2020-12-02 23:25:26 +0000 UTCSo sorry for your loss. As fans, we will be here regardless of the release date of the episode. Take your time and put your emotional and mental well-being first.

2020-12-02 22:57:55 +0000 UTCSo if I were to skip a video, would it be better to post the one I have tommorow and skip Sunday? The only reason I would do the opposite is because Sunday is a bigger premiere day anyway cause people are free, and it would be posted at 12 on Saturday premiere wise so people would know to tune in Sunday. Idk if that made sense but let me know if y’all have ideas

2020-12-02 22:57:42 +0000 UTCI am so sorry for your loss. Take all the time you need. From the “business perspective”, everyone can understand the extenuating circumstances and I guarantee no one expects you to stick to your normal upload schedule. No one would expect anything less. For informing your audience, I think a simple post on TikTok and/or YouTube to let the community know you won’t be uploading is perfectly fine. I hope you guys and your family are doing okay given the situation ❤️

2020-12-02 22:46:21 +0000 UTCTake your time! Absolutely no hard feelings if you skip a release because of this. Don't overwork yourself, especially in a time like this. Your release schedule doesn't have to be 100% on point all the time. We understand that you're also human, just like the rest of us. Sorry for your loss. I hope you're doing well.
Marc ✨
2020-12-02 22:40:46 +0000 UTCfrom experience it might do something with YouTube analytics but so would posting a video that gets less views because it isn't as polished. In the end take care of yourself people can wait.

2020-12-02 22:40:20 +0000 UTCPost whenever is good for you, anyone who can’t understand that isn’t someone who you want as a fan anyways. You could post tomorrow and postpone Sunday, postpone tomorrow and post Sunday, or tbh even just postpone till next Thursday. Take however long you need and we’ll be here excited to watch your content when you come back :)
Rory Fitz
2020-12-02 22:39:33 +0000 UTCI don't think anyone would be mad if you posted the video until Sunday if they hear why. Another thing you can do is post tomorrow and simply not post Sunday and wait a whole week for the next video. A simple post in the community tab on YouTube should explain everything
Ana Andrade
2020-12-02 22:39:16 +0000 UTCI agree 100% with this comments! Take the time you need! Your well being is far more important than an episode! Sending positive thoughts to you and your family❤
Chris Shinya
2020-12-02 22:39:01 +0000 UTCYou should absolutely take all of the time you need. The last thing you should be thinking about right now is work. I don't think you have to explain yourself but if you feel the need to just do it when you are ready to come back. You guys are the most important part of your content and when you are not at your best I am sure it will show. Take your time and sorry for your loss
Will M.
2020-12-02 22:36:38 +0000 UTCBro post when you want we’ll watch your content regardless. Take all the time you need we’ll be here when you’re ready
Christian Blanks
2020-12-02 22:34:28 +0000 UTCThis would be fully and entirely ok, and in fact expected. Please take all the time you need to heal and take care of yourself. You are a person before you are a content creator. Your family is in our thoughts ❤️
