Glimmers upset MOOOOM! shout in S1E1 is priceless and Angella explaning in S1E3 to Adora that she greatly loves her daughter and thats why she has given Adora the chance to stay in Brightmoon. And seriously its a kids show with some great representations for differences in personalities, character traits, orientations, psyches as examples of inner values as well as body types, skin colors and everything else that exists in terms of physical appearances. This show does not need any further topics it stands for itself!

2021-11-08 16:26:35 +0000 UTCsince you brought it up first *deep breath* let's do this: Entrapdak (no spoilers, I swear) Right the first thing we need to do is realign our perception a little. So on Earth, humans evolved to use "romantic love" in order to make reproduction more successful. In other words, where we come from "romantic love" is an evolutionary adaptation to facilitate sex. That means we tend to look at love in terms of; romantic love vs familial love vs platonic love right ? However we simply have no evidence to suggest that Etheria is the same, like at all. There is in fact a pretty decent amount of evidence to suggest the opposite. Tl/dr, on Etheria it is common for romantic love to exist without the "endgame" being sex/reproduction. I'm not even sure reproduction on Etheria is sex-based. We see a bunch of kids & not one pregnant person, ever. Additionally, we see two characters of the same gender who have multiple children & there is NEVER any mention of a mother, nobody even acts as if there needed to be a mother. All of this is to say that I think the people that made this show were consciously trying to show us romantic love without the over-arching goal of sex. I'm not really sure if this is a defence of Entrapdak, per se but on that subject I would just like to add... I GAVE MYSELF A NAME !!!!

Idk I kind of feel like Hordak himself didn't care enough about Scorpia or really even know enough about the runestone to try and make a story for Scorpia to digest easier.

2021-11-04 19:03:49 +0000 UTCThis episode makes me cry every time. I honestly feel like it's sadder the more times you watch it and the more you get to know Catra. All the details the creators put in are incredible. She is such a well-written villain. Catra feeling comforted and being excited after that interaction with Shadow Weaver is SO painful. Before that moment she really hadn't been able to catch a break, and then to find out that Shadow Weaver being nice wasn't genuine.. Personally, that would be enough to send me spiraling, so it's just really sad to see. Being manipulated like that is so confusing and traumatic. I don't wish it on anybody.

Montana often talks about shadow weaver and how catra and adora reacts tk her abuse with "this is what happens in real life" which in many ways makes her even more horrifying

2021-11-04 16:27:37 +0000 UTCThere are many situations that Light Spinner/Shadow Weaver handles in questionable/straight-up terrible ways. I do think there are areas of this backstory that do help understand and even emphasize with Light Spinner. I’m not saying it’s redemption-worthy, but it does open the door to her struggles and shows she is in a way trapped in her cycle of trauma and poor decisions. This show does an excellent job at parallels in storytelling and encouraging the audience to understand that life isn’t as definitive and explanatory as we’d like it to be.

When else do you ever see Hordak admitting someone on this backwater planet is even his equal much less better than him at science? :)

Also Entrapta is roughly 28 years old (the head character designer said she's about their age when they were 29). The fact that she seems a lot younger is part of her being on the spectrum. (Did not expect to info dump here but feel likenits worth repeating even if insaid it in the Halloween stream)

She'd said before that her family had joined the Horde & given Hordak the garnet as a gift but in Lightspinner's vision you see scorpion people on their knees being taken prisoner by the Horde.
