My feelings about Reiner
Added 2021-11-15 14:26:05 +0000 UTCSo in this past episode, i spoke about not liking Reiner, but i realize now i didn't really make clear what i meant by that. I'm really more referring to how i felt about Reiner at that point in the series, back when i first watched it, cause i feel like telling montana i like/understand why he is the way he is is a bit of a spoiler for her.
Also, i have only seen up to season 4 episode 7, and as of that point while i understand why he did what he did to an extent, i still am not sold on liking him yet, but im sure that could change moving forward in the series! Additionally, i watched the whole show in like 3 days, and can't really remember everything that happened tbh. I wanna go back and watch, but i feel its more fun for you all to watch my true second time watch through.
I am going to remove the reiner hate from the video, purely because i can't have toxic fans coming at us if they think i still hate him fully, thanks for the heads up!

Also important to note that a good character doesn't equal a good character. Reiner is quite complex and love him or hate him, he's a really interesting character.

2021-11-15 19:02:00 +0000 UTCI think some people forget that you don’t have to like every character in a show and that’s okay. Especially in AOT when we consider everyone’s choices and the consequences of them. It’s hard to ignore those things. Sorry you’re getting hate for that.

Which is, ironically, what I think Kenny was trying to avoid to begin with. I hope people are more mindful that some Patreons might be at the same place as you/Montana.

I’ve rewatched aot with a friend before and he kept asking me questions about Reiner and Bertolt during season 2 and I was like “yea screw those guys” but in all honesty, I like them… Reiner even being one of my favorites in the entire series. And I honestly didn’t even begin to start liking them till I rewatched aot and saw everything with both perspectives in mind. I feel bad for Kenny for feeling the need to edit this out when their reactions and thoughts on the Marleyan warriors are completely natural 😔

While this may be a step in the right direction, some might still be upset like many of the sub>dub people who fight and argue in the comments, heck I remember how controversial Montana hating on Sokka was back then. What I’m getting at is there will always be people who are displeased and find issue in your personal experience but you should be allowed to have your own opinions and not be shamed for them. For what it’s worth, I hope this change calms them so they don’t cause anymore stress for you.

They're only thinking about it with the whole picture in mind, rather than think about how little information is known at this point. Giving your opinion on a character based on how you felt about them at a certain point in the story is perfectly fine. I guess all these people with hindsight knowledge want you to steer Montana towards their opinion rather than let it form naturally as the story progresses 🤷♂️

I think most of the characters in the show are very complex and Reiner and Annie are very sad and sympathetic characters to me.. In any way I love you opinions and analyzation of the show so much and can’t wait for more so don’t let opinions of other people deter you from saying what you think and feel! ❤️

2021-11-15 14:35:01 +0000 UTCJust to be clear on the patreon comments, no one has been toxic towards your opinion from what I’ve seen, so you might have gone a bit overboard there. YouTube would probably be an entirely different story though so it does make sense to remove the Reiner hate haha.

I agree that we understand him better in season and appreciate his situation but idk that I necessarily “like” him either. He mostly just makes me sad. I think he’s a very well done character. Conflicted feelings 😅 you think fans would give you guys hate for that statement ? I’m not really involved in the fandom so I don’t know.
