2021-10-19 17:01:03 +0000 UTCThis is the crucial scene in this fun episode - I am old enough to see the reference to the 80's series, but did not watch it for 30 years - to understand the relationship with Catra from Adora's point of view! As an old role-playing master, it is the music that decisively shapes the emotions - it is brilliantly done. It is for the first time - in my perception - the music theme from "Promise" that comes back. It introduces in a way Adora's view of things. Listen to it again, preferably with your eyes closed, the music and Adora's phrases create a mood where you understand that she is desperately chasing her conditioning of "you have to be perfect" without ever having a chance to achieve that goal of fixing everything. Will Adora fail at this or will she learn to perceive herself differently?

How about with the 80s show She-Ra: Princess of Power or He-Man and the Masters of the Universe? This feels like a good episode to ask because there are a lot of references to the 80s show that was much more campy.
