I'm 3 years late but I came here to say this - the female titan is crying because she was so close to retrieving eren and putting a stop to this mission. she didn't WANT to continue it

2021-10-07 16:08:15 +0000 UTCFun fact but really really sad fact: The patch that Levi gave the soldier wasn't Ivans but was actually Petra's (you can tell bc Levi took the patch off of the smallest body on Levi squad before Ivan's body was even recovered), which makes the scene where her dad was talking to Levi about marriage even harder to watch.

The female Titan is actually crying out of sadness as Levi and Mikasa were flying off after saving Eren, not due to pain from the fight. It’s a rly important moment of the *female titans* character, especially as you learn more as the seasons go on
