This is a spoiler But it's eventually revealed that Erin can completely transcend time now in fact it's revealed as a kid he went back and had conversations with armon while they were both kids and then he wiped both their memories of the events.

gamerx

It's like one of the characters said the world picked a fight and they lost.

gamerx

Way late I’m just now watching the reaction but I think Montana is wrong about eren. She has to take in the fact he’s been trying to find another way for years and we know his biggest thing is to keep moving forward so he already came to terms with things as the years pass. He showed remorse a few times when u actually hear what he’s saying rather than how

Jayquan Reddick

Anyone else having issues playing rhe vids on mobile? I'm on my s22

Victor Ampo

I’ve been watching since the cell phone recordings of Last Airbender and I just want to say Thank You! I’ve LOVED watching you both react to these shows. I don’t have friends who watch anime and getting to see your reactions bring me joy. Each Thursday/Sunday I truly get excited to see the new videos

Molly May

What is ATLA?

Frost115

I found AOT because of this channel (started with ATLA) and it really introduced me to anime and now I'm so grateful to have entered this genre of television. So, THANK YOU, Kenny and Montana <3

christian

Just a quick reminder for everyone to think about, those colossal titans can harden. Have fun with that.

Ryan Torres

What a journey :D I started watching your LoK reactions on Youtube, but then you introduced me into Shera and watched AoT, which I love as a long anime fan girl :) You just make it so entertaining and also thinking with you, discussing with you and just watching a show together with you is so much fun and I hope the journey will continue far to the future ^^ THANK YOU Montana and Kenny <3

Haorii

sorry but even with all those arguments, which i don't deny are true, literally murdering every single person outside of the island is just wrong. and the thing is that eren alone is the one who decided to do it, it's not like it was a shared decision. he just went and said, "yes, i'm killing billions just because i love my friends" and again, as i said it can be understandable, what i day is it is unjustifiable

sand_fl

Throughout S4 they hav shown multiple considerations and possibilities to explore on trying to come to an understanding and peaceful agreements. The final one here in this ep of Eldian Supporters, put all the blame on the ppl of Paradis as the true devils. It was the final straw on possibly a future to co-exist, but there wasnt any other choice they culd think of or explore. Alot of our thinking of possibilities they CULD HAV done is only based on possibly working. Not a guarantee, with anything just like Zyrus said here about it just postponing the fundamental problems, not solving them.

FirePistol95

This is ignoring all the evidence of him seeing the memories before

Zyrus

That would just postpone the problem. They'd come right back after Paradis once they rebuild. Magath only had his change of heart when he was /forced/ into it.

Zyrus

Honestly, I just recently watched episode 5 of season 4 and I realized that if they had somehow been able to communicate with Willy Tyler, then he could have deterred everything since once he revealed the truth, everyone in the audience started questioning whether Paradis was even a threat. It wasn't until Willy mentioned that Eren was the founding titan, that he was seen as humanities threat. Had The scouts been able to get to Willy and maybe convinced him, then he could have convinced the world to leave Paradis Alone.

Yunobunny

I do agree with Monatan, there's a BIG difference between Reiner and Bert and Eren in terms of their attitude towards killing and basically committing genocide and the guilt they carry. Specially knowing Eren already knew the attrocities he would do. I'm sorry but while you can understand why Eren is doing what he is doing there is NO justification to it. I don't care how many people ask "well, what can he do?", well, for starters he can do what Gabi said about destroying the military bases, he could have gone with Zeke's plan, as fuck up as it was, he could have let Historia make a decision about her own furture. But HE chose to kill the rest of the humanity, when proabably the majority are innocent people and killing way more Eldians than the ones who live in the island. I know it's hard to see Eren as the bad guy after 3 seasons of him being the main character, but come on, justifying genocide is not the answer.

sand_fl

IDK if you've read it but in the manga the flashback happens when Armin and Mikasa are on the roof watching ALL the walls come down and Eren gives his speech. That's when she contemplates if there was anything that could have been done and looks back at their time in Marley. IDK which I like more

Jawrool

I do think there were instances of Eren showing remorse for his actions. For example, when he tells Reiner that he's the same as him. He's saying that even though he knows what he's doing is wrong or horrible, he's going to go through with it, just as Reiner did. There's also him hovering by the window, looking depressed, after berating Mikasa

zbox5432

@Peter Film excuse me for asking but where has been said that the anime will have a different ending? as far as I'm aware that's not happening

sand_fl

Also Zeke never lied to Eren about Mikasa. What he says is pretty much Accurate

Madara_Uchiha_2022

I’ve been a Patreon since S1 Episode 1 and it’s been a blessed Journey with you Kenny and Montana

Madara_Uchiha_2022

I disagree bruhmingo, it seems exactly as if he has seen everything before, and he's trying to prove the future wrong in a sense by hoping for different things to happen, but everything happens 'as expected'

Reece

Thank you for being such a solid part of my routine throughout our AoT journey!

Reece

maaaaan I'm gonna miss these. It's so so cool to have been a part of this for such a long time. I almost got a little emotional when you pointed out just how long 'a long time' was lol. WOW. I mean, we met Cheyenne, we saw the new place, we met Appa, we saw the new studio change, we saw Appa was on some growth hormones because now he's a wolf, and then met special guest star Mia, we had the reveal that Fergie was spelling the name of the song Glamorous in the song called Glamorous*, Kenny now knows that Appa's nose is in fact not a legume*, and that flight risks have nothing to do with flying* (*if you know, you know*) AND your lil' ass, Kenny, was over here making posts about proposing to your now-fiancée while you were away. Watching you guys is really just such a treat no matter what it is. being here from jump makes me feel so proud of you? You're so so welcome. You earn every single thing that we give you. Thanks for all your hard work. Are you ready for the next item on the agenda? Cuz I can't wait [= Letts get it Letts GO :D

Eren isn't seeing things play out. He's only seen the future he shared with his father in the paths, that being the rumbling itself and him communicating with his dad in the paths. He isn't watching things occur as htough he has seen it before, he is living through it for the first time knowing eventually he will start the rumbling. It's interesting because rather thna trying to break some sort of path, he's making choices based on the reality everything he does brings him one step closer to ending the world.

bruhmingo

I think know everything about why she got pregnant from last season and this episode. It was to delay her being turned into a titan.

bruhmingo

It still, generally, follows the logic of determinism. Keep in mind Eren did not see how everything did happen. He only saw the memories he gave to his father, so portions of the rumbling and himself "comunicating" with his father in the paths. Eren knows his destiny is to make contact with Zeke and start the rumbling, but he does not know how those events come to be. What's fascinating is because of this, Eren knows whatever decision he makes is the decision that gets him to the rumbling, but he still perceives it as himself having free will. I guess you are right how strictly speaking, it is possible for Eren to make different choices, but because his future is sealed, (if a temporal being knows the future, their future has necessarily become pre-determined), he functionally operates in a deterministic world. I see this as why Eren is so desperate and also reckless/angry during the war for paradis. He knows for a fact he will start the rumbling, so it is as if he can 'choose' to act without regard for his own life, since he knows he gets the founder's power.

bruhmingo

It’s been wonderful watching you guys this whole time. Thank you for providing dope content!

Ghost Turty

In my opinion this episode shows Eren desperately trying to find something that happens differently from his visions. He's already seen how these events play out, but he still goes along because he's hoping there might still be another way. But it all happens the way he's seen it happen. This is also why he asks Mikasa what he is to her, and if she had answered differently, maybe he would have believed that he could take another path.

Mikkelonk

I am super happy to have found yalls channel the production of every episode yall do from transitions to the extra music during the discussions is just top notch and the passion for the anime just shows!! Yall deserve every subscriber yall get! I am here to stay for Full Metal Alchemist and Eventually Death note : )! Keep up the Fantastic work. Commentary on episode: I just wanna add to the discussion about montanna's commentary regarding Specifically Bertolt and Reiner reaction to Destorying the wall. At the time of doing so Remember they were kids so its hard to say if their remose was genuine because later on we clearly see espically from Bertolt specifically that he wasn't really he and I quote says on multiple occasions that it was deserved. "None Of You Have Done Anything Wrong. And You're Not Devils. It's Just That You All Have To Die. There's Nothing You Can Do Now."-betherolt "You think this is what we aspire to be?People Loath us and why wouldn't they? Were monsters; we deserve to die for the things we have done"-betherolt Those don't sound like Remorseful to me personally.

John Carrizales

I love Montana's shirt lmao

JuanderfulJuans

@Artruo Madera Is it Really Determinisim if he literally saw what is going to happen and how it is going to happen and everything is playing out exactly as it has happenend? I wouldn't call him a slave to Determinism as its generally defined as "a situation in which a person makes a certain decision or performs a certain action, it is impossible that he or she could have made any other decision or performed any other action" This usually assumes there wasn't another choice because genreally humans can't see the future lol

John Carrizales

Omar Bautista lol I'm only 26

Kage Uzumaki

Silently hoping we at least get two episodes of Death Note even if it loses :) fantastic vid as always!

exhausted

You should check out Levi's OVA since Im pretty sure its getting dubbed soon!

PurpleTux

Welcome to the old people club

Omar Bautista

Omg Montana your top 😍😂

Tom Johnson

Ok but what about the fact that Eren his Historia's baby dady ?!?!

Enoobis

@Lise-Jeanette Hopen yes but his future was set by his own actions. "Everything happens according to my will"

Enoobis

Lmao I just noticed it, that’s hilarious. She needs to tell us where she got that shirt immediately

Chelly

Only looking forward to fmab. Still can't believe death note lost to demon slayer

Kage Uzumaki

Also it would be cool to have a discussion about the desensitization to violence over time and how that influences our frames of mind and judgments. Like, I cringed and yelled and repeatedly looked away from the screen watching season 1 because of the violence and gore. But in this episode I watched a man get steamed to bits, and was just like "woah, that was animated well". Even Montana's reactions to violence and death have changed throughout this journey. I'd love a psychological breakdown of that haha

aliciaaa

I wonder who will hit Eren with the final blow. Mikasa? Armin? I could even see it being Historia because of how she said she would try to stop him in the flashback or Levi (fresh on the supernatural mend) because he promised in season1 at the tribunal to kill Eren if he got of control or even Jean. I'm interested to see the direction it plays out.

aliciaaa

very hard to take the intro seriously with Montana's shirt I was laughing for like a solid three minutes XD

Chaos Gaming

Not into most anime, but eager to see the rest of She-Ra and then Arcane! Continued well wishes with engagement, and thank you for all your honest content.

William Timmins

While reading I kept asking myself who or what Arron is xD I guess you mean Eren?

Yuion

Plus it's anime original ending so even if u did know the manga end, it'd be diff

Peter Film

I feel like they’re gonna fly armin over him and transform armin into a nuke to destroy Arron or the titans. If not that I feel like Zeke is just strapped to Arron in some way so he can control the founder for the rumbling so they’ll disconnect that connection and Arron will see first hand what he’s doing and stop. But then that leave if that connection is interrupted do the titans stop their walk? Does he come out of that giant skeleton titan? Lots of questions lots of ways it can end.

Mike burns

also I hope FMAB wins

Chelly

Would be neat if you guys could react to the OVAs, but I understand if that’s putting too much on your plate. Thanks for this incredible journey and can’t wait for Part 3, whenever that is lol

Chelly

You guys finished it 2 months or so after we did but we'll also start it 2 months before you guys since the sub comes out way before the dub 😭

Manuel Gomez

AHHHH THIS WAS INSANE!!!! as soon as i heard the og theme in those last few minutes literally thought “KENNY IS GONNA SHIT HIMSELF”

JennatheBreadQueen

Season 4 Part Fuck is honestly peak fiction

Edwin C

"Season 4 part F*ck" is actually pretty accurate given everything that's gone down so far lol. Congrats on the engagement!

Tristan Reynolds

Sure maybe 2 months of waiting but you guys wernt blue balled thinking part 2 was the final part and now we get part 3 and 4 to look forward too. Waiting a year now ain't fun

Omar Bautista

So any thoughts or theories on when Eren revealed his plan to her and she suggested the idea of her getting pregnant.

AbusiveSnaga

What an amazing ride it's been! And I'm so happy to be a part of it all :) I gotta drop out of Patreon for June and maybe July, because I'm going to rehab for my knee, and my financial situation isn't the best atm. But I'll be on Youtube and on social media with you guys ^^

Krista Han

Lol Kenny “ Well this is just upsetting”, that’s how I felt through this whole episode 😅 they pulled a good move putting that flashback at this point in the story, really changed the tone and significance than if they would have gone with a traditional story structure. Also just seeing everyone so cute and happy all the while knowing the pain they are enduring in the current timeline 😭

Ci-Ci

That's the most ironic part about Eren, all he ever spoke about since episode 1 was his wish to be free. But his future was set since before he was even born, he never was and never will be free to controll his own path. Never been much of a Eren fan but this last episode leaves me in tears, can't imagine what he must feel to go through this ;___;

AzukaLockheart

Been here for a long time watching AOT with you guys. Sad its over and sad that as I've decided to go back to school I can no longer afford my subscription. Congrats on the engagement and I will be catching y'all on Youtube when that catches up! Best of luck and I'll be back. GGs

Jawrool

It was so weird for me to watch this episode when it first came out :D I realized that when we thought that the titans in season 1 were just mindless killers, they were actually humans who were suffering. And now, Eren seems to be the mindless killer, who is suffering.

Krista Han

As a manga reader it’s interesting hearing your answers to certain questions.

Christian Magana

“A lot of things on the horizon… just like the Rumbling” KENNNYYYY XD

Lucas Barros

Yes, he was in remorse when he gave everything chance to deviate. But everybody came attacking his world and he has acted to save it.

PKS

Eren did not show remorse when he started rumbling because that part he did before when while knowing what he has to do and watching the events falling on timeline as is, he still gave a lot of chance for the events to deviate. In the meeting of Sub. of Ymir in this episode, waiting for Taybur to declare for war, and If Marley would not have attacked within a month, he would have only done rumbling after meeting Zeke to scare the world.

PKS

I can’t spoil either as I don’t know just somethings I’m focused on for the return

Justin Spencer

3. Why was historia flashback about being able to carry a child relevant

Justin Spencer

2. eren can currently control the other Titans abilities to some extent even the shifters

Justin Spencer

Things to take into next season: 1. Eren has seen parts of the future there are things even he hasn’t seen.

Justin Spencer

I'd still argue that Eren is the least free of them all. He's always craved the ability to make his own decision, like any other person can, but he has the burden of knowing the future, events that he feels are inevitable, and time after time those events are proven true to him. After fighting the titans and escaping the walls for freedom, all of the work put in, only to find that these future events continue to happen as he foresaw, he believed that he was no longer free to make his own destiny, and if those events are inevitable, why fight it anymore. That's why he would feel like he doesn't care for anything anymore, because he's only going through the motions. Paired with the imagery in the end credits of Eren in a cage or the bird trying to fly away only to be caught in the cage, I think it's good symbolism to reflect the theory as well.

Dylan The Bear

its been a long journey but you guys are finally caught up, cant wait to see your reactions to the next part!

freshfruitbox

And yet he calls other people slaves, when he himself is a slave to determinism

Arturo Madera

Fun fact: that shot of Eren from the first episode has the same time stamp it does on the first episode

James S

You have to keep in mind, Eren’s future is inevitable. The things he saw must come because the past cannot be changed.

bruhmingo

thank you for bringing us along on this crazy journey ❤️ these episodes have always brightened my day and i can't wait to see all the other amazing reactions y'all have planned ❤️
