The creators of LoK clarified later that it wasn't but it remains a popular misconception because they have a similar look to them.

I just learned that one of her recent roles in this vein was as Shadow Weaver in the Japanese dub of She-Ra.

Commentary on episode: Not really much to say since this episode wasn't in the 2003 Version and was really put in for Vet's of the anime to catch up on what's going on and establish the differences between the two. I couldn’t get pass season 1 of Demon Slayer, it just didn’t catch my attention as much as other shows but it is a work of art animation wise. FMAB has my vote, so I hope you’ll continue it! It gets better and better as episodes go on! I love the discussions during and after in your reactions and would definitely find those more interesting to hear about in this series. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is the 2nd adaptation of the original manga and the first series started off a lot slower then brotherhood so was paced a lot better initially, but was released before the original manga ended so deviates greatly in the 2nd half. Brotherhood came just after they finished the manga and is a lot more faithful but because they knew they were going to repeat a lot of ground of the first series as it was adapting the same material again they did this new intro episode to run through a lot of the fan favourite characters and give a basic run down of the overall storybeats of the first arc. Which is fine, unless you were like me and had very recently watched the first series and found the pacing of this new opener really off putting (along with some other issues) so you give this series a skip initially. And didnt get to it until was fully finished and then binged it wholesale beginning to end :D Brotherhood is brilliant, there are still bits of the original series I still like, but I cannot deny Brotherhood is a genuine epic of a series and worth going through in its entirety.

2022-06-02 00:41:21 +0000 UTCAh, FMAB, another one of the greats! It’s a good thing you both decided to watch the first two episodes of all the choices for a variety of reasons. In this case, not that the first episode is bad or anything, but technically it’s not canon. “Fullmetal Alchemist” was a show that caught up to the manga as it was coming out and diverged from the original author’s story. FMAB was produced after the manga finished to follow the authors story to a T. The first episode is kind of it’s original creation just to showcase its different from FMA, but the rest of the episodes basically perfectly follow the manga.

I do think this episode is a weak beginning, watching it while trying to put myself in your shoes as a first time watcher I can say that pretty objectively. But I also think (as objectively as I can) that it is also the weakest episode of the series overall. The creator, Hiromu Arakawa created an interesting world rich with flawed characters, deep world building, and questions about humanity, both whole and personal. It truly is a masterpiece!

As for the "Freezing Alchemist" and other "Type" alchemists people tend to specialize in a specific field of alchemy because they need to know the exact chemical makeup of the elements they're working with.
