And one thing to note is that Zeke has had his titan longer than the others. Zeke will die in one year but Reiner/Pieck still have a couple years left. Which is why Zeke’s successor has already been chosen, but the candidates are still competing to be Reiner’s successor.

Porco i think is like the Marleyans said, usually doesn’t question orders… but Pieck and Reiner are pretty intelligent, so I wonder what they’re thinking about when it came to the revelation that if they don’t end up capturing Paradis Island… the Eldian race’s reason for existing will very quickly become obsolete lol. And also, I can’t tell if Reiner picked up on the “not in this room” comment because, for one thing probably has figured out that nothing anyone says anywhere is private, and/or if he’s picking up what I believe Zeke is putting down in this moment lol I know I’m late but I like to input anyway xoxo

He covertly shows Falco how to use the propaganda as a camouflage, and he talks over Porco when he's about to say something seemingly anti-marleyan when the officers are listening in. He protects his fellow Eldians and he knows how to do it, and this episode shows that well

2022-02-16 11:33:54 +0000 UTCYeah, Gabi's name is pronounced like Gabby; Gabby spelt phonetically is Gah-bi. My point is some are pronouncing the vowel sounds like CAR-BEE GAR-BEE. I didn't expect this to run into a debate lol It was just something I noticed. Even Kenny and Montana noticed in the first episode. It really isn't that big of a deal; it just catches me off guard sometimes.

2022-02-15 18:39:15 +0000 UTCI think they're pronouncing it the same as the original Japanese VAs and that's why it sounds weird, because it should just be pronounced the way most Western English-speakers pronounce it for it to sound natural in dub. I think Germans would pronounce it the way the dub is pronouncing it, like how the original and dub both say "Reinah" instead of ReinER, so maybe that was the thought behind it. But I agree it still sounds unnatural with American VAs.

Also I’m not comparing the it all to the movie just the mispronouncing of Gabi’s name sometimes. It isn’t a change in language also as Gabi is more of a western name. It’s usually short for Gabrielle.

Reiner loves his cousin and doesn't want her to inherit a titan and is encouraging and warning Falco about saying the wrong thing to someone who will report him.

It's usually not to be taken at face value, a bit like sarcasm, which is IMO what Reiner is doing with that monologue about absolute devils who eat potatoes and *gasp* gave the instructor the smaller half!

When I first heard it I figured it was just a coincidence that the japanese and german word for wait sound similar, but I have since looked it up and can’t find any translation of “wait” into Japanese that sounds at all like “warte”. My japanese is not great though and I was relying on google so I could be wrong and it could still just be a coincidence. If anyone knows japanese better than me and knows if “wait” can be translated to “warte” in japanese, or if not then why they would use the german word, feel free to let me know

Every Eldians name has a German origin, Paradise island landscapes look German with German looking architecture, plus many of the main songs throughout the show are sung in the German language. Very interesting

Normal eldians wear grey armbands, warrior candidates such as Falco, Gabi, Colt etc. wear yellow armbands. Red armbands are for “Honorary Marleyans”, these are for the Warriors and their immediate family members such as Reiner and his mother or Zeke and his grandparents.
