Kenny was to Uri because of the royal blood. Levi was to Erwin because they just have a bond. You don't have to be compelled by blood to want to protect the person important to you and Levi doesn't blindly obey Erwin, he pushes back a fair bit that we see and eventually gives in due to Erwin's stubbornness.

BROOOO I stopped the video right at the point you guys said "nobody is free in this world" I resumed playing it and I'm back again. an audible gasp escaped me at, "did Kenny ever save him?" I actually said this out loud lol 'OH MY GOD HE FUCKING DID' YOU'RE RIGHT, HE DID SAVE HIM OH MY GOD LOL yo if that's... if that's aCTUally what happened... yoooo. Kenny wouldn't even have been aware of what he was doing. Maybe since the Founder had been eaten 3 times already this decade, the subconscious need to defend Uri could be sorta muddled since it had changed bodies three times. So, maybe giving Eren a fighting chance was enough for him to meet his subconscious instinct to defend the /Founder/. Not Uri. The Founder. And I guess that would kind of maybe make sense if the whole Paths thing transcends time and space. He doesn't care about Eren as a human person like he did Uri. So. Maybe that's enough. and even if that's not what happened, that is still a fuckin cool ass observation dude. That's CRAZY

Oh I like that about the scarf! I had no idea about the background in Japan, the idea of that definitely adds to the scene. Thank you for sharing! :) yes I would say how eren interacts with mikasa goes with his character lol. I also think his behavior comes with the fact that they grew up together so he’s very comfortable in the way they get along which would mean he would have no problem being very blunt to her (IE the hair thing). It’s different than meeting someone for the first time when your 15.

It's a testament to the quality of the writing that Eren's lie feels SO painful and believable, even though before this episode the Ackermann clan was literally known for being hunted by the king for being unable to brainwash and control them.

It's interesting that you cite the "cut your hair" scene as proof he DOESN'T like her, as it's always read to me as him being overly territorial about Mikasa after Jean complimented her long hair. I mean it's infantile and jealous, but Eren is pretty childish at that point. Most of the early signs of his feelings for Mikasa come across as childish and aggressive because that's just how he is early on. The scarf scene as well I think has more weight than being the "one nice thing" that he's ever said to her. In Japan there's a kind of confession of feelings called kokuhaku, and while it's much less subtle now in younger generations with more straightforward "I love yous" (but in Japanese obviously), a traditional Kokuhaku would often subtly involve promising to do something for life. I'll enjoy your food forever, I'll cook for you forever. Or I'll wrap this scarf around you as many times as you want. Isayama even told people he considered having them kiss at that moment. Now obviously they didn't, so it's not like they're together, but I think Eren at least HAD very strong positive feelings about her. Great reaction as always, I love hearing your different thoughts and feeling on everything as it unfolds, and as you get more time with the series. Y'all are truly my favorite reactors

For clarification, the Ackermans were, like, bioengineered super soldiers. Years ago, the royal family experimented with the paths that connect all Eldians. The Ackermans were the result who, when awakened, accessed the combat skills of all their ancestors. That's why Levi and Mikasa are such badasses. They have generations of battle strategies at their fingertips. And again, all of this was cut from the episode because they weren't given enough time to explain it.

Eren cutting is hand is like someone walking into a room with a live grenade or a gun. It's his way of saying "I'm armed, dangerous and not playing any games." He uses it to hold the fact that he can transform anytime he wants if they push him to it. That's why he walks in showing it to them first thing, so they listen to him without resistance. As for it being on the hand the way it was, it's a reference to how Eren Krueger would transform.

I don't think armin is being manipulated because after annie was frozen in the crystal it says he was visiting her for 4 years which means he was visiting her before eating bertolt. Also if they are influenced by memory's feelings wouldn't that mean that eren would be in love with his mother. I think that armin is visiting on his own free will.

That’s exactly the thing that sets him apart for me. I was really thinking about it, because like you said, almost every character has had to commit violent acts at one point or another that resulted in one or more persons death. But never once did I think they actually enjoyed it. Floch seems to really enjoy “enforcing” Jaegerist rule, because it allows him to have this power over people and make them hurt. And you’re exactly right, sadist is the perfect word to describe him

Yes- I would say almost all the characters have done awful horrible things for their own causes but he does not seem to care or feel any conflict or have any remorse. He seems to have an edge to him that enjoys toying with peoples emotions beyond what he needs to do to achieve his goal. He has a sadist like quality to him.

None of what you said actually matters tho because nothing Eren said in regards to the Ackermans even made sense… like, if the Ackermans had no free will they never would’ve tried to oppose the one they were created to serve (aka the King) in the first place. And Mikasa’s gotten headaches in situations Eren wasn’t even involved in. AND she’s also gone against what he’s told her to do before, with no headaches. She’s dedicated to him, yes, but literally everything he said about it being because she’s an Ackerman is bullshit. There’s even more evidence to support this than what I just said, but I can’t talk about that because spoilers.

so i know it aint on the list but i think you guys should eventually get around to "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" it is very good only has 2 dub seasons rn but room for about 4-6 more seasons and the light novel the anime is based on is still being written and is EXTREMELY successful in Japan so probably wont stop anytime soon, if you choose to watch please react to it, i binged all 48 current episodes in like 18 or 19 hours plus sleep between S1E9 and S1E10 no other brakes except AoT Pt 2 Finale

SUCH a great reaction to such an insane episode. I feel like Levi had been in survival mode for so long he doesn’t know anything else, possibly a trauma response along with his dedication and skill. And Floch is one of the most needlessly cruel characters in this series. His behavior and actions remind me of a terrorist honestly. Cant wait to see more!

@letts react she started protecting him years before he got the founding titan, also Levi doesn't protect him the same way Mikasa does. For example, when Levi kicked him during the trial, Mikasa had to be held back from trying to stop him. It's not really a big deal but yeah by what Eren said Mikasa started protecting him before he got the founding titan because she mistook him for royalty because he gave her an order. He just so happens to also have the founding titan now, but she was already dedicated to him

just so you guys know, Eren isn't saying Mikasa protects him because he has the founding Titan, since he didn't have the founding Titan when he first met her and her powers kicked in. he's saying that in the moment when they were fighting off the kidnappers and he yelled at her to "fight!" she mistook him for her master and her Ackerman instincts kicked in. so no, it doesn't have to do with him having the founding titan since she was attached to him before he had it lol
