I personally refer to that moment as “The Rebirth of Humanity’s Savior”, and it’s incredibly important to his character development. Zeke is also my 2nd fave character (behind Eren, Reiner is 3rd) because of what happens from this point onward, looking forward to your thoughts as you progress through the eps

The sub is good in it of itself because it is the original, but I also like and actually prefer the dub because it’s what I first watched the show in so I would understand it better. I feel however that the dub conveys more emotion because the dub roar of Eren actually includes the VA in the roar, it’s just heavily modified. I also feel the dub roars are better because they convey the idea that they are devils, and they are monsters. I apologize for the attitude but it almost always seems like no matter where you go, there’s always sub stands just hating on the dub.

Chill out homeskillet, its going to be ok.

Besides, the Part Two Intro, I feel, is one of the best intros for the anime so far. It really captures the entire feel of this part of the show.

By waiting for the global alliance to form, they could destroy any threat to paradise in one fell swoop, allowing the people of paradise to grow old and die off “peacefully”. This was explained in episodes 9-12 if I remember right? It’s really easy to miss, I had to watch it a second time to catch it.

2022-04-16 23:22:52 +0000 UTCAlso, what gets me about both Armin and Mikasa in that scene is how they both portrayed the desperation they feel in a way that’s true to their character. Armin leads with logic, but Eren is like family to him. He loves him. He NEEDS Eren to be on their side, so he’s piecing together evidence in his brain that supports that. Whether he’s right or not is still up in the air, but I think it stands to reason that he would still see what he needs to see to keep from breaking. Mikasa hurts me even more. I’m not a psychology expert by any means, but when she lost her parents in such a brutal way, every aspect of her previous identity was completely shattered. She moved forward from that day not really willing to let anyone in. She knew from then on her purpose needed to be protecting him, because he was the one stable constant she had in her life. Having Eren himself plant that seed of doubt, especially in relation to what she sees as the foundation of her existence and reason for living, must be incredibly shattering

You have Armin who has trusted Eren from day one and gave an amazing speech to rally the troops. But you also have Mikasa, someone who has loved Eren since the day she has met him, everyone knows that she would kill anyone bringing harm to him, she would even give up her life to save his own. Yet she is mostly quiet and feeling doubtful about trusting Eren’s motive. Armin’s response was expected but Mikasa’s lack of complete trust would seriously make me second guess Eren.

2022-04-16 18:24:56 +0000 UTCArmin definitely backed up his opinion on Eren’s motive with real facts, but he was also Eren’s best friend growing up so he’d definitely just WANT Eren to still be on “their side” more than the others. So I think his defense this episode was not entirely logic based, which isn’t necessarily a problem in itself, but we already know that Armin will try to believe in his friends as much as possible even if there’s very good reason to doubt them (ie Annie in season 1). Idk, I just think automatically agreeing with everything he says is a mistake because he has his own agenda (like every character does) which could cloud his judgement.
