2022-08-14 16:39:31 +0000 UTCI'm torn on what to recommend. On the one hand, Invincible is a great show, and I'd definitely love to watch it with you. On the other hand, it is gory. It doesn't bother me too much, because it's with cartoon characters so I don't take the violence as seriously. But I don't know if Montana would feel the same way and I certainly wouldn't want to make her watch something she'd find unpleasant. I actually find the violence in Arcane harder to take, even though it's less explicit.

It's an animated show from a DnD campaign where the voice actors of Gaara, Levi, Mustang, and lust are some of the main characters. It's pretty equal in the level of gore to invincible and it was animated by one of the teams that helped make Korra

The boys is thematically a satire on modern day society, politics, celebrities and all that. Invincible is a story with completely different themes and more narrative driven than direct satire. A coming of age story for a young superhero. Won't say the twist as that'd a big spoiler but thematic important as well

2022-08-12 18:19:43 +0000 UTCWhile there is a gore warning, it isn't really presented as extra dark or hopeless. Parts in AoT are more nihilistic at times, so.. I'd say give it 2 episodes, as I feel episode 2 is a better representation of what the show is trying to do. Now. Anecdotes aside. It's 8 episodes, you'd have interesting reactions to it, it's popular and would add a good search tag for the channel. (obviously do what's best for yourselves, but that's my 2 cents)

2022-08-12 17:52:14 +0000 UTCHaven't seen the show, but I remember another reactor I watched (who has handled violent content before) decided not to continue after a few episodes, he said it was just too depressing and upsetting. I've heard similar things from friends, that it was just way too gratuitous. Only saying this to say that if you do pick it and decide you need to stop watching that's totally valid!!

It's short, it's deep and thought-provoking, it's action-packed, and it's popular. I would definitely give it a try.

2022-08-12 14:42:41 +0000 UTCIt's a very good show, but be aware the 1st episode is quite tame up until the mid-credits scene, which is something to be aware of - the show likes to go to the credits for a few seconds then come back. I can't recall if it's just a few episodes or all of them that do it, but you won't want to stop when it first goes to the credits. But the brutality and gore isn't going to be happening until that late in episode 1, so that's the part where it's like "Ok buckle in; you thought this was MCU but this is The Boys." Just sharing that so you guys don't go into it with any anxiety / cringing about it getting gory at random moments in the first episode.

It builds some amazing suspense and pays things off really well. Just be careful because the gore can be a lot (but you’ll see the worst it gets in the first episode).
