So I know that I'm rolling up to the 'no regrets' party many months too late, but... would you guys (Montana and Kenny) ever consider reading the manga? Like, I know this isn't something you normally would do for your channel but, with you being the avid Levi fans that you are, it would be so so worth it to do some kind of reaction or at the very least read it for your own personal enjoyment. In my opinion, the Manga takes the narrative leaps and bounds beyond the on-screen adaptation - which that is what the OVA is. An adaptation. To fit it all into two half-hour long episodes, Wit went and trimmed SO MUCH from the scenes and characterizations that, upon reading it after obsessing over the OVA myself, was honestly rather offended that they didn't bump up the episode count by one or two more, just to give this world the space in needed to breathe. I'm afraid of saying too much in the (unlikely) event that this comment falls under your radar, so to not spoil any of the content by gushing over all my favourite lines and character moments I'll simply say that your AOT experience (as well as your Levi brain-rot) will be infinitely bettered by giving this manga a try

2023-09-11 22:57:25 +0000 UTCI know this is old but levi's "whether to go on your instincts or trust the resolve of your comrades" [after his first crew died because he trusted the resolve of his comrades] COMPLETELY changes/informs us on the moment where Erin was debating to trust the scouts or turn titan when first getting chased by the female titan. They all said trust us, but levi was like "do what you what you think is best, and live with your decision"

Levi squad is trying to convince eren to trust them and not go Titan and fight on his own and when it comes time for Levi to talk he tells eren to do whatever he wants. That neither eren nor himself can possibly know how it will turn out so all eren can do is make the choice he thinks he needs to and hope he doesn’t regret it. I’m sure his own discussion where he chose to trust his friends and let them go outside the walls with him only to end in tragedy was a major part of him not trying to convince or judge eren if he chose not to trust his comrades abilities in that moment. He was gonna let eren do what he felt like he needed to.

Though, Ilse’s Notebook is forever my favorite one because there’s like a couple really slick Easter eggs in it that reference a very specific sequence and I wonder if you can find them both. I would not be mad at a Lost Girls 1+2 OVA though cause it REALLY tugs you in. I still find myself being absorbed every time I watch it lol

2022-06-15 23:18:33 +0000 UTCIt's interesting to consider why the quest for the truth of the world and getting rid of the propaganda isn't considered a noble grand plan. Yeah, Erwin's motivation is primarily selfish but the quest for knowledge and the truth is inherently good.

The others are nice, but those two heavily involve the main plot. So I hope they’re next 😊 in the meantime, excited for whatever the next anime is! Still hoping for FMAB, but I’d be cool with Demon Slayer too

2022-06-15 17:32:03 +0000 UTCRead this somewhere else and found it interesting. Notice the relationship between Erwin's speech about how having regrets leads to letting others make decisions for you. And how in season 3 Erwin starts having doubts and regrets and Levi says, "I'm making the decision for you, give up your dream and lead the cadets to hell". With Erwin's smiling reaction is a fascinating full circle imo.
