Random Question: if Montana could handle Attack on Titan, could she watch Invincible

Comments

Invincible has more action scenes than Attack on Titan in it's first season (which is only 8, 45-55 mins, episodes long). I concur with saying that if Montana handles the first episode, she should be fine for the rest of the series. It doesn't get much worse after

J. Antonio Ligorria

There are basically 2 scenes IMO in the entire Invincible show with more "gore" then one might be used to after AoT, but they're both 100% justified by the plot and character motivations so it fits. On a psychological level it won't be harder then AoT, and totally don't worry about the "gore". If any of you will see something that you just don't want to look at in that moment, then don't hesitate and just turn away, or close your eyes. ;) There's no shame in that and we all have our personal levels of desensitisation for gore. The both of you would definitely enjoy the show, and there's a lot to theorise since the first episode. I'm sure you'll love it!

Tomasz

Some scenes in invincible are more gruesome. But I think she could, it’ll be like attack on titan . Give it a few episodes she’ll get the feel for it and adjust to it !

Jacob Young

YES SHE CAN

Victoria Camarena Fiel

I think she could

James S

no 😭 i couldn’t handle it and aot is my fav show

Jae Watson

Invincible is AMAZING. Both of u will LOVE it

Adrian Lee

Yeah, I'd say it's probably similar. I haven't seen Harley Quinn yet, but Invincible as a whole is a twist on the classic superhero tropes. It's serious when it needs to be, but it's definitely not like that all the time. I think the first episode is pretty representative of the overall tone of the series.

David Portnov

So is it kinda like Harley Quinn? I love that show because of the humor, but I wasn’t considering Invincible because for whatever reason I got the impression that it was more of a serious show. Violence and gore doesn’t bother me, especially in cartoons where it looks less realistic, but I just would rather watch something with a lot of humor over something more serious/dramatic. I just might have to check this show out after all!

Jenny D

AOT is honestly more violent, but the violence in AOT really tells its story. Invincible's violence feels like it's more for the shock factor. Also, Invincible is set in a modern America, so we can actually see ourselves in those situations which makes it feel more authentic. So to answer the question, I would say yes if she can handle violence in AOT, but no if she has a hard time with violence in a more modern and believable sense

Lexi Browning

I don’t know. The violence in Invincible is worse than AOT in my opinion. I think maybe she could do it, but I don’t think it would be easy for her. The violence in invincible is more varied and gratuitous. It’s easier to get used to the gore in AOT I think.

Amelia

Yes, I think she could but only because of the art style, if it was AOT artstyle but same actions/violence then probably not, I'd love to see you both watch invincible 😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍

Alexander Brogan

Yeah, I think they could film it privately, decide whether they really want to go farther with it, and if so then send out an "Urgent: Questions for Invincible 1x1" post, and then film the question responses.

JHB

Yeah she probably can

ABRIKOS102

I think she can handle it plus I think Marc’s journey would be amazing to see through her eyes.

Kobe Wheeler

As someone who didn't care for either show, I feel like the violence in Invincible isn't necessarily more intense but *is* more gratuitous. Being comfortable with AoT isn't the same as being comfortable with Invincible (in my opinion).

Sharlaquine

I actually watched invincible before getting into anime and was almost more deterred by Demon Slayer's first episode. I guess the question is how you all handle violence.

christian

This comment is so thoughtful

christian

Too gory!

Tessa Nyx

Invincible is very good. There is more bodily violence rather than horror to it

Aidan

I’m not sure. For me there’s always been a disconnect w anime violence bc I associate anime with more mature themes like that. It’s harder for me to watch western cartoons with serious violence bc I associate western cartoons with childhood Also AOT is mostly monster vs human, Invincible is human vs human

Velocity Paige

For SURE!

PurpleTux

First episode is nightmare fuel. I love AoT and handle it fine, but I didn’t keep watching Invincible past the first episode. Though I’ve been told the first episodes the most intense.

Cornelius Ukena

Absolutely 💯

Jefferey Kidd

Mmmm.... try?

Elvira Lehtonen

Of course she could handle Invincible lmao

Madara_Uchiha_2022

i've seen aot and loved it, but when i tried invincible i couldn't get past the first episode. the story is good but it as a lot of gore.

ethan charbonneau

I’m not sure, it’s pretty bad

Kfir shaltiel

As a squeamish person who got used to handling aot and then tried invincible... I'd say no. it seems really good but I couldn't make it through the first episode 😂

Darby

Its Mostly on par violence wise, if not maybe slightly more gruesome, Good watch though!

CoronerPerry

Maybe, but I’ll skip that one sorry,

Lucy Diamond

Maybe...?

gabe killian

Ummmmmmmm maybe. Shed be looking away a lot though...

That Guy

I think it’ll be fine It’s a different kind of violence IMO, while the overall violence “level” is about the same the actual gore itself is a step up

Casey Turner

Yes 100%

Supplication of Perpetuity

yes

Carter Gavigan

I see a lot of biased takes from people who want you guys to watch the series. It is more gory than attack on titan. Teeth get knocked out, faces disfigured, you may see internal organs, and there’s some pretty intense body horror beyond that. It’s not a step up from the gore in attack on titan, it is a leap. I don’t know if Montana or you can take it. I’d give the first episode a try but no pressure if it doesn’t work. I recommend you watch the first episode without announcing it. The questions we would ask are pretty obvious and you will hit them with your usual analysis. If it goes wrong, you don’t have to explain yourselves. You can just say it wasn’t for you when people bring it up. The viewers could never know you even tried. If you guys can handle it, edit the footage as usual and post it as a surprise. Everyone’s happy either way and there’s no pressure on you guys. I hope this comment helps you guys out.

Christopher Johnson

There is some pretty graphic gore in it and there’s a storyline in one of the later episodes that’s pretty horrific and includes body horror so idk but you can look up what kinds of triggers and scares are in the show to see if she could tackle it

Joseph

The violence is really... affecting. But there's a LOT to talk about.

William Timmins

I've watched a lot of gorey stuff, but Invincible has disturbed me more than most. It... really depends, I'm not sure.

William Timmins

yes!!!!

tayjah bruington

nothing to do with this but, have you guys watched Attack On Titan: Junior High?? And also i think there's another ova Apart from No regrets

mika heademptyjustcatra

It's... a different type of gore. AoT is more emotionally connected, but Invincible is WAY more graphic but slightly detached.you definitely get more desensitized to it by the end, and it's among the most gore I've seen, so anything after Invincible would be better by comparison. Silver linings I suppose. The best option is to let her know, and not fully surprise her with it

Brandon

Maybe a test episode to see how Montana feels? If it's not working for her, just don't tell anyone you did the test episode and rule that one out. We want y'all to be comfortable first and foremost

fr0st

Depends, if she's seen Harley Quinn than yes it's very similar type of violence

Geneva

Yeah for sure

Jon Wake

Yeah i think so

syd

Oh yah it’s nothing compared to aot

Conor McNamara

It’s more gorey and gratuitously violent than AoT, but the gore is also less realistic in terms of animation so it depends on Montana specifically I suppose.

VVenture

Invincible will be vanilla for her.

Skye Sinn

She's a grown woman, of course she can handle Invincible.

Norrin Radd

its so good can we just hope she can in general

Trinity

If she can handle the first episode, that should set the bar for the rest of the season.

imcalledgpk

I don’t think so. Too graphic

Daniel Ruiz

Invincible is properly shocking when it comes to the violence. It's strangely lighter overall as a show than Attack on Titan, but the gory scenes hit hard. I don't think it would hurt to try at least the first episode. There's a lot of great humor in between to balance things out.

David Portnov

Maybe... I would love to see you all try. That final episode though...

Matt Lievens

Yes

Judge Grant

I don't know. Invincible is way more graphic with the gore, and it may be more jarring with how bright the rest of the show feels

Kristof Wakoli

well it’s also only 8 episodes so far, and I’d say it definitely surpassed how depressing AoT was by its own episode 8

Chelly

Probably, there are some pretty graphic fight scenes, more so than Attack on Titan, but not significantly more graphic than some of the worst bits

Jacob Schecter

Use episode one as a test run and go off of that

Ryan Torres

Yeah, it’s less dark and scary as the beginning of AOT, but still about the same amount of gore (maybe a bit more blood), but similar to AOT you get used to it quick

Dalton W.

I'd say worse because of it's more consistent gore, but she could handle it

Patrick Jordan

I think she could, but definately give her a heads up before going into it.

SDH

Idk I think the gore in Invincible is a bit more detailed and over the top compared to AOT

Thiivi

Show her episode 1 as a test. It doesn't get more gory than that. She can test the waters before you guys commit to the series

Erik

It's a little more gore. So maybe. It super good so yes. You both should watch it. It worth the watch

SkinnyAsAStick

Gorl iono. I love things like that but sometimes even I was like, “this is a lot” lol

Andrew G

Yes. Please watch it

Scoob doob

Invincible is a fair amount more graphic than Attack on Titan, so maybe not. But you could try one episode to see how she likes it.

Sazaraki

There’s really only a handful of scenes on par with AoT but it’s a short series so it feels more condensed

Affinity

I think so the first episode is a good test though

Robert McKinley

Yes. I would say it’s comparable to AOT’s level of gore.

Ethan Honza

Get her consent first

Sergio Ozoria Ramirez

I’d say it’s worse, but given how well she seemed to take AOT once she got used to it, I think she’d be fine.

Calbe Wetzel

Easily. Attack on Titan is depressing as shit. Invincible is not as depressing but still violent

Neutral Nick

Maybe, it’s good but it’s a lot

Kinon115

Invincible is much more explicitly graphic than Attack on Titan

Yeah KeeN

I think so.

BB.Creative

I think she would get into it for sure

Warren

Yeah it’s really good

Jarick Richardson

Yes

Affinity

She should be fine

Lamarr Wentland

Yeah I think so.

Jacob Binder

Screw it, yeah, can

Marcb92

Yes but u should warn her

Zion

YES. ITS SO GOOD.

Linds Leann

Possibly……….
