FMAB Question: What is the structure of seasons?

Are there seasons to this show? if so, whats the break down of the episodes

Comments

I would consider it a 5-season show. The change of seasons is indicated by the change of opening/ ending songs: 1st: "Again" by YUI, Episodes 1-14 2nd: "Hologram" by Nico Touches The Walls, Episodes 15-26 3rd: "Golden Time Lover" by Sukima Switch, Episodes 27-38 4th: "Period" by Chemistry, Episodes 39-50 5th: "Rain" by SID, Episodes 51-62 (except 61)

Yeah arcs is a pretty standard way to differentiate between anime series story pieces. As you observed, it feels like one story arc has kind of concluded and a new one has begun, usually with some new conflict or new characters or something being changed up. That's a better way to distinguish between them than seasons because most anime don't have seasons except a few recent ones.

No seasons just arcs. You can divide each one at the into/outro changes. To be fair each arc is super different, a lot happens in brotherhood vs the original, but its a real fun ride trust me.

That Guy

You could divide it when the intros change because that's when different arcs start and end, other than that it's a very straight through kind of show

I feel like the Introduction arc is 1-12. And then a new arc starts from 13-29. And there’s a new arc that starts from 30-41, and then there’s a new arc that goes from 42-49, and then 50-55, and then 56-63, and then 64.

No seasons. Netflix and possibly other streaming services break it up into a largely arbitrary set of five seasons/parts, and I've seen at least one reactor drop the show because the 'finale' of one of those parts felt 'anticlimactic', so it's best if you just consider it to be one sixty-five-episode season.

Kyle MacDonald

And on the subject of intros. The images are blend of what may, what is, and what won't be.

There's also kinda 2 halves, Episode 27 I think or 28 is called Interlude and is the ONLY filler episode, from memory. So if for some reason you want a break that's the spot. Other shows like Arcane have 3ep parts, Slayer has seasons + a movie etc.

Peter Film

u KNOW an episode slaps when they don't have an intro!

Peter Film

No seasons, but there are 'parts' and there are 5 parts, and 64 episodes, each new part is noted by a new intro.

Fukkyu Bisch

Also, there are 64 Episodes total. 63 & 64 don’t even use an intro.

Shane Gilroy

I think there's a small timeskip after episode 45. I can't remember

Ryan Tinkham

Most people go by the intro changes (someone posted the breakup of each intro above) since the intros pretty accurately match tone shift in the series. But yeah technically no seasons!

Velocity Paige

This! That’s how I break it down as well.

Kyle Greer

They released it on DVD in parts but overall there are no seasons. It's just a 64 episodes series

ichigo

Feelsmetal Alchemist 🥲

Ever Beltran

Not really seasons, they just change the intro/outro. Here’s the listing for each Intro #1: 01-14 #2: 15-26 #3: 27-38 #4: 39-50 #5: 51-62

Shane Gilroy

just, tears 1, tears 2, tears 3, tears 4, and never-ending tears. That's how we break it down. :-P

Mojira

There are no seasons. The show released week by week until it finished. Streaming services will separate it into seasons but they’re arbitrary.

Yeah KeeN

I don’t think there are seasons at least not formally structured in the sense of like season finales and what not. It’s pretty must just a continuous episodic adventure.

Conor McNamara

There are no seasons it's all one season just an accumulation of 64 episodes? So its just parts and a bloopers episode at the end but that's about it I would watch all of it cause every episode is important.
