Did you seriously call this a kids show??? So you constantly cringe and cover your eyes during bloody scenes that most DEFINITELY happen in kids shows too?? Interesting.

2023-10-23 09:34:24 +0000 UTCdifferent people have different reasons, personally this episode(and to a degree the previous) hurts to watch(i can't actually watch parts) because we're a system and have an envy who is the gatekeeper and the protector.

2023-04-17 02:26:18 +0000 UTCnice to see someone else who doesn't absolutely detest envy, personally this episode(and to a degree the previous) hurts to watch(i can't actually watch parts) because we're a system and have an envy who is the gatekeeper and the protector, we actually don't tell most people who've seen fma(og or brotherhood) about them because of previous peoples reactions)

2023-04-16 23:55:54 +0000 UTCEnvy is guilty of all the crimes they committed, but also I still pity them.

2022-12-02 08:45:06 +0000 UTCI guess I consider feeling sorry and feeling pity to be two very different things.

2022-11-28 23:43:27 +0000 UTCI just like to point out that Envy was a green monster. He was literally green with envy

2022-11-28 09:02:20 +0000 UTCI love thinking about Hawkeye's tattoo. Since it's her back, she can't use it herself, which seems to be what her father intended. It's also something that you couldn't know it's there unless she was vulnerable enough to expose it. Also it can't be seen by someone unless she trusts them to watch her back. Excellent placement.

2022-11-27 23:24:38 +0000 UTCI would definently recommend watching Cowboy bebop as your next show. It's heavily musically themed and inspired and is definently a classic

2022-11-27 17:03:58 +0000 UTCYouse might have heard it, but I think youse were reacting over it, but I love Riza's line right after Envy changes back from Roy and goes "Youse are actually that close?!!" if you didn't hear it maybe watch the first minute or so again, I always find it so funny and cool

2022-11-27 09:36:55 +0000 UTCI think a big part of why Montanna feels bad for Envy and not Reiner is that this show is all about life being invaluable while Attack on Titan treats life cheaply due to the nature of the show which desensitizes you to characters dying and suffering at least on a surface level. The way the shows treat war is very different largely because in Full Metal the wars tend to be portrayed as needless one sided slaughters where in Attack on Titan it shows how hate grows on different sides and groups of people vying for survival and the very real aspect of war of no one being safe which in my opinion is a better and more realistic portrayal of war. However I do appreciate that Full Metal never devalues the loss of life like Attack on Titan does and shows the long term psychological damage of war. I would like anyone reading this to consider how big of a deal the fact that Mustang and Hawk Eye committed war crimes is in this show versus how Attack of Titan glosses over war crimes without so much as an acknowledgment.

2022-11-27 02:09:27 +0000 UTCTo kill envy, identify the source of the jealousy and expose it to the light. I love that end for him.

2022-11-27 01:59:50 +0000 UTCI mean, yeah I feel pity for Envy because he is ultimately a very pitiful creature. His being is jealousy towards humans and their ability to love and hate and ultimately forgive each other, and his entire personality and being is built on trying to prove those feelings unnecessary. That is incredibly worthy of pity. And I guess ultimately I'm not actually that fond of watching someone being tortured to death no mater how much atrocity they've caused, but maybe that's just me. Also not the same thing as thinking he didn't deserve to have his story end where it did. I would compare it to gollum, another pitiful creature whose ultimate demise is one he deserved.

2022-11-27 01:00:04 +0000 UTCI love love LOVE Mustang and Hawkeye’s dynamic. They need each other and they care so much for each other. Even though there haven’t been any overt hints towards them being romantically interested in each other, their chemistry is absolutely off the charts. They will always be my favorite FMAB ship. Also, if you recall the beginning of episode 30 when Hawkeye was in the shower, we saw the tattoos on her back had some pretty large burn marks over them, but they weren’t completely gone. It seems like Mustang wasn’t able to go through with burning her completely. Can’t say I blame him

2022-11-26 19:35:00 +0000 UTCLust isn’t just a sexual thing either. She also showed bloodlust and lust for power. She enjoyed making people suffer, which also played a part in her downfall imo

2022-11-26 19:29:36 +0000 UTCPLEEAASEE CONSIDER WATCHING COWBOY BEBOP AS YOUR NEXT ANIME!! Its a romance anime and it has way more existential themes than fmab, you guys would love it

2022-11-26 18:58:13 +0000 UTCI think in a way, Lust was killed by her sin. She was a tease. She liked playing with people and manipulating them with her sexuality. If she had just killed Mustang, instead of toying with him, she wouldn't have died.

2022-11-26 17:52:21 +0000 UTCWait, do people feel sorry for Envy? Envy certainly is the most pathetic, but I couldn't feel sorry for Envy, just considering how many innocent lives Envy was responsible for taking as well as how much Envy relished in taking those lives. Nah, Envy deserves a pathetic death imo

2022-11-26 17:37:42 +0000 UTCSo many things in this episode. Montana's pre episode discussion was off the chain! Don't quote me on this, but I think it's really a moment when Envy finally recognizes him and calls Ed by his actual name, I think it's the first time in the entire series. Speaking of recognition, it's one of the few times in the series so far that Olivier acknowledges Alex as her brother. The line "he's my brother, he's trained better than to be killed like that!" Is so raw, and you can tell that despite her acting disgusted when people talk about him or he's around, deep down, she still has some pride that they're related. I also think that people get tricked into feeling bad for Envy, because you can just see how pathetic he's become. This was the antagonist that reveled in the fact that he had so much power, able to incite large scale conflict as easily as breathing. The fall from that height is humongous, and then there's the fact that he chooses suicide, not because he has actual problems like so many people suffer through, but he used it basically as the equivalent of sneaking out the backdoor.

2022-11-26 17:26:10 +0000 UTCI don't know if we're supposed to feel bad for envy, but boy. He sure does entirely lose his sense of self because a human called him out. It's really quite a scene and I love it as Envy's end.

2022-11-26 16:09:53 +0000 UTCI think one of the things that’s always important to remember about Mustang is that he has basically already crossed the moral event horizon. He has already killed innocent men, women, and children. Hundreds, if not thousands. He feels terrible over it, but the fact remains that he killed them. He has far more blood on his hands than Scar, as much as someone like Envy does. And so does Riza. It’s why it’s so important that Roy only use flame alchemy in the name of protecting people and making a better world. Why he made Riza promise to shoot him in the first place. And it all culminates here very beautifully.

2022-11-26 16:02:41 +0000 UTCSome speculate that since all homuncli originate from Father and Dwarf in the Flask, by nature, is unlikely to have sexual lust, the sin of homunculus Lust is rather Bloodlust -- one reason being that she was the only Homunculi actually willing to kill multiple sacrifice candidates (Mustang and Al) despite knowing Father was still short on them.

2022-11-26 15:49:49 +0000 UTCthis episode is so great and there's always so much to talk about for it. from mustang's psyche, to envy's end, to the armstrong siblings kicking ass, and izumi owning that she's an alchemist. always so fun to watch
