Enjoy! next episode coming Saturday!

Father uses Shadow Ball!

Josh Lomax

Remember when Ed was injured in the mine shaft and had the chimera pull the beam out of him… he used his own life force the same way one would use a stone to somewhat heal himself. He even said during the scene “I’m a philosopher’s stone that’s powered by a single soul.” Maybe that has something do do with why he was able to enter Pride as a Philosopher’s stone.

King Alch3mist

Ummm they keep commenting over so many theories, it is fine but sometimes it is too much, that they forget to enjoy small moments in this master piece

Andrés Guzmán

Anyone else getting the "account does not have permission or the video no longer exists" error??

pleaseee watch "Given". Its a great anime that's 11 episodes. I think you guys would have a lot of commentary on the band's mental states.

PLEASE, PLEASE WATCH CODE GEASS. IT'S IN THE SAME VEIN AND ALWAYS COMPARED TO DEATH NOTE AND FULL METAL ALCHEMIST. IT'S GOATED AAND RANKED AS HIGH AS TOP 10 ANIME OF ALL TIME IN A LOT OF WEBSITES. IT HAS AN AMAZING STORYLINE!!

John

I'd like you all to check out The Legend of Vox Machina. The second season comes out in a month and it's based on the dnd live stream Critical Role. As it happens, the voice actors for Mustang and Lust both play in this dnd game and voice their characters in the show.

PearseNation

You two at the end was so fun! Couldn't stop laughing 🤣🤣 you both have such a good sense of humour 😄

ryan davis

The way I gasped when the queen of cats entered. I love her so much she's so... Cat. That's a peak example of a Cat right there.

KT Bees

Yes! It's so good, and I have NEVER seen anyone react to it. It has such amazing themes and the art is so good considering it came out in like 2005!

R. Lewis

Just a double check that's the anime where there's Mecha's that surf on energy in the air? Which has way deeper plot than I'm alluding to here. If so then I absolutely agree a good show needs more love!

Calvin

Lust's demise was the product of her own fixation to inflict pain and suffering to others. Instead of quickly dispatching the threats, she was toying with them believing she was superior to humans. This blood lust almost became Mustang's downfall when he was dealing with Envy.

OmniBlazer

To explain the ending... What are philosopher stones? We know that they're made up of and powered by human souls. What is inside and powers a single individual human? A soul. So when fighting Pride, Ed used his own soul to enter Pride's philosopher stone and find Pride's true form and destroy his container. We've seen Ed use his own soul for power before when he was almost killed fighting Kimblee and the chimera soldiers. Remember he was stabbed by a pipe/rod and he used his own soul to power his alchemy to heal himself.

Nick

Father literally looks like young Hohenheim with the only difference being his eyes. His eyes are designed to be more sharp and sinister but aside from that, they look alike. That's why no one has ever said he looks like Al.

VXP

A fun fact, Pride's true form is based on/closely resembles real-world diagrams of theoretical homunculi: a tiny fetal human in a flash. If you're looking for more suggestions for after Death Note, I still recommend Eureka Seven. It doesn't get enough love but it's one of my favorite anime along with FMA:B.

R. Lewis

I've always loved how ironic Wrath's death is. After you finish up Death Note, you guys should check out Fate/Zero. It is a fantastic show and it has gorgeous animation. If you have any interest in history or mythology it is well worth the watch. It is also relatively short at 25 episodes.

Azurai

yes

Karmac

What do y'all consider a "short" anime? 12 or 24/26 ish eps? Do you guys want a break from the more mystery like before death note? Changes what I would recommend based on y'alls mood (posting before finishing watching this ep with y'all)

Iliad

I read somewhere that Fathers god form is supposed to have attributes from all 5 of the sacrifices. and Bradley talking about God, then blinded by the sun light is so poetic. as is this whole show. and of course that smoothcriminal Kimblee 😎🫡

Austin Wiebel

I always just thought it was still Hohenhiems body and he just made it younger

Triton8

Since your nearly finished watching FMAB, you should watch the dub blooper compilation on YouTube, it would be a nice way to wrap up the show:))

Mariamcgxx

Please watch RWBY after death note

Geneva

I absolutely love Kimblee making his reappearance in this episode. It's on brand that he would be right at home inside the vortex. And the way he calls out Pride for belittling humans all the time, when the latter was looking for a way out like a coward, just brings his own philosophy to the forefront. He also told Ed once that he "wanted to see which side the world would choose." It seems that once he was defeated, 'survival of the fittest' deemed that he has no right to stake a claim anymore, and so it's almost like he submitted himself over to Ed and Al's way of thinking. He had that long conversation with Al, trying to understand them, and in the end, he understands Ed so completely that he has to tell Pride what's up.

imcalledgpk

also a cool note about wrath's death: he was blinded by the eclipse giving Scar the opening needed- in the war of extermination he said "don't count on god to beat me". With the eclipse representing god this makes this line of dialogue come full circle as he was beaten by an Ishvalin with the help of god

MegumiMary

my guess is that father couldn't use the same circle twice for a philosopher stone without redoing the crests of blood

MegumiMary

The author said if Bradley ahdn't been so wounded he could have killed everyone left in that room after Mustang was taken easily. Scar was only able to win because he was so weak and because of the blinding. Since Bradley couldn't regenerate as he only had one soul in his stone. He only had 1 life.

Wednesday reaction?

Sean Fox

Father took the form of a young Hoenheim.

Adam Brown

Ed used himself as a philosopher stone once before when he was in the north and near death he said if he thinks of himself as a stone powered by one soul, he could heal his injuries.

Oppiee

Its also really interesting looking at the Homunculi's deaths from the point of view of the 7 virtues and how they play into their deaths. Patience is the virtue opposite of wrath and it was a moment of perfect timing that led to his death. Sloth was defeated by some of the most hard working and diligent individuals. Envy by the kindness and compassion of others, pride by somebody like Ed who is very humble. Chastity and Temperance don't apply as much to Lust and Gluttony's demises but I'm sure lines can be drawn. Possibly the fact that Al's careful and measured use of the near infinite power of a philosopher's stone was what got Gluttony and Pride so injured that Pride consumed Gluttony.... Anyway I just think it is cool to see that aspect as well.

brosenthalUO

Also notice that Prides final flashes of thoughts.... Were of his family, not the humunculi, but his HUMAN family

KeanuofRivia

TBH, I think Wrath emphasizing that his wife was "the woman *I* chose to live by my side" actually says a lot more than you might think on first listen. In the rest of the speech he says he lived his life always following the path that was laid out in front of him. And before, to Riza, he said that everything about his life had been assigned to him - except his wife, whom he chose. So, his wife was literally the *only* true choice he ever made in his entire life. So while he might not have grand words of love, I think it's true that that simple statement says it all.

cosmotron

Happy Holidays Kenny and Montana! I'm so psyched up to see you guys watch the last couple episodes, it'll be amazing! Even then, remember to enjoy the season and don't work to hard as your best is always enough guys!

Arely Mtz

I can’t believe you guys will be done with this series in less than 2 weeks! (Assuming you keep the Wed/Sat update schedule through the holidays)

Velocity Paige

Please consider watching and reacting to Spy X Family. Without spoiling too much, it's basically about a spy who collects a fake family for a mission to prevent a war from happening. I recently discovered and binged it! It's such beautiful combination of action, humor and comfort. I think you would both really like it. Plus the animation style is also amazing! Looking forward to you guys reacting to Death Note as well! :)

Doortje van den Berg

The fact that I get to see cute kitty on screen is the best bonus ever. Also, I am gonna be so sad once this show is finished :(.

Roy Meulblok

RIP Ed Baylock, the voice of King Bradley

Ryne C. Snyder

That’s so sick

Letts React

I can't watch this xl

Remember the episode Ed got impaled and healed himself via "using himself as a philosopher's stone made of a single soul"? What Ed did here is pretty much the same: as we saw with Father and Hoenheim, a soul within a stone can enter and sabotage a stone as long as it holds enough willpower to do so. Ed basically did what Hoenheim & Xerxesians did on a one-person scale and destroyed rest of Pride's stones, leaving only the entity that is Pride left (just like how Father existed before he absorbed souls).

Say

I think Father's new form is supposed to just look more feminine instead of looking like Alphonse. In real world alchemy, the "perfect being" is hermaphroditic, the perfect union between a man and a woman. For obvious reasons they couldn't make look completely like a hermaphrodite, but instead made him subtly androgenous in gender. I think it's just a coincidence that Alphonse's body also looks feminine due to his thin body and long hair.

Keanu Gonzales

I do believe that father looks like al because he's a clone of Al's biological father, not because that's Al's rockin bod
