i always forget that mustang has seen the turth now ad can do all kinds of lchemy without a circle. When he pulled up that earth wall i was so surprised. "wait? Earth? not fire? WAIITTT NO CIRCLE??" and then i remember lol. I thought he was going to redirect the fire lmao

Limini

I also second Erased!!! short anime, 13 episodes.. but such an impactful anime. Sooo goood.

Lifehouse

Also seconding Erased!

Girl Wonder

Erased would be great. I feel like it can't beat MHA but it'd be top tier.

JuanderfulJuans

Definitely warning on the "gore" though

AJ Hutchinson

After Death Note you guys should definitely check out Fate/Zero. If you have any interest in history or mythology it is a great watch. Plus is has absolutely gorgeously animated fight scenes.

Azurai

I think it's because this one was supposed to originally be on Saturday, but then the power outage, and the holiday, so they just didn't have time until today. But for real, we are spoiled.

imcalledgpk

I second a vote for Fruits Basket, it's such a good series.

Lorias

That scene where everyone is cheering for ed gives me goosebumps every time

Seth

Yep sorry, meant to add that but forgot: this is for the subs so you'd have to find it specifically to hear it since I assume neither of them have heard any of the subs.

fr0st

That’s only in sub though, in dub he shares a VA with Broly from dbz which Kenny has seen I’m sure

Scar

Wait wait wait next episode tomorrow? You spoil us omg

Scar

Oh I gues movies would also make sense too, huh. Maybe something less studio ghibli cause ouch didn't copyright hit, but something like paprika? 5 cm per second? Unsure if these have english dubs but a movie would prolly work out to the same edited work output as a 10 or so ep series. O:

Iliad

+1 for Erased, lots to theorise about there and a short but excellent one. I would also suggest looking into possibly animated movie reactions (like Ghibli and others, maybe as a patreon exclusive if you can't work out copyright stuff for longer media).

fr0st

Love how well they've set up Mei's remote alchemy and her being ready to do anything for Al and Al being the selfless brother who has already seen his brother nearly die once when Scar attacked and is not prepared to watch it happen for real this time. Al really is the heart of this show, despite being the younger brother: he's such a mature, compassionate, and grounded influence on Ed, who is the hotheaded softie.

Fruits Basket, honestly, while a little less conventional since the other anime you've watched so far have been action-based, has a lot of stuff that Montana may get into with discussions, honestly. Things like trauma, the effects of being an outsider and being rejected by society and family as well as some fun comedy moments.

Also yes, cool little bit of trivia that may mildly blow your minds, the VA for Hange in AoT is the same one who does Ed's voice for FMAB. Romi Parks is a legend and y'all should have a listen to her work on both sometime if you're curious.

fr0st

Here for husky voice Kenny appreciation!

fr0st

Romi Park's voice acting for Ed in the Japanese version is so good this episode (Hange's va in AOT) she is just so awesome. Vic did an amazing job too in the eng version ngl x Amazing reaction and analysis as always ☺️

Swanzy

Death Parade and Erased and Anohana: the flower we saw that day and Your Lie In April are short and a good fit for the channel so far (I'm thinking you mean between 10 and 27 eps, leaning toward the former?) There are others I recommend but they are far longer (ex: violet evergarden). Out of these my personal fave is Death Parade

Iliad

Death Note is going to make them SO angry

Mikey

I had added a spoiler warning incase someone who hasn’t seen the episode yet saw the question, but glad you guys answered it! Also Kenny that was a sick reference about Al reaching up to the sun like he did, I never noticed the symbolism before

Danny C

These last three episodes are so good! Also husky voice kenny is really something 😳

Rakurai

Novice and outclassed are also what Ed called Father Cornello the fraud. So many callbacks to the early episodes & characters at the end

OmniBlazer

Something to note: the last line Ed says in this episode is a perfect word-to-word of one of his first iconic quotes of the manga -- the words he says to the fake priest in Liore. It carries much more weight though now that we've seen how far everyone has come, doesn't it?

Say

I'd really love if you guys also watch/react to the FMAB bloopers, they are hilarious

Vys

Just a note: It is already established that you can't get the dead back, it is impossible. Ed, Al and Izumi tried it and saw the truth because of it and were punished for their arrogance. What they produced were Human Bodies only in appearance, that was the whole point of the episode were Ed was digging up the remains he and Al produced. The reason Al's soul and body can be treaded with the truth is that he is still alive.

Nago

Tmw when the gorilla Chimera tells greed to give up on arguing with mustang is hilarious.

Zach

love kenny's shirt lol

kai

Day 1 of asking you to watch band of brothers

Nathan

Greed said, “I wanted the chance to have friends like these.” Remember how Greed introduced himself to Al, one of the first things he said? “The name’s Greed and I wanna be your friend.”

Ethan Honza

The hype is here!

James S

Let's go!! I think that Montana actually reached a very similar conclusion to myself when I read this series back in 2010. It's interesting to see what the Truth really is in this moment. A lot of people seem to think that it functions as the all powerful God, but that's not quite right, because so far, every person that's gone to the gateway has seen their own version of it (I.e. Izumi's was in the shape of a woman, Al's took him by the hand and it was like his body was transferred over, and Ed's has just the arm and leg). So I thought that the Truth is actually just a personal transactional being, there to enforce the laws of equivalent exchange. It might have some of the powers of a god, but if you bring something to the table, it will definitely give you something back. And in this moment we see that the price of Al's soul is the same as Ed's right arm, a full transaction that is reversible with no loss of value. It mirrors the being(mind, body, and soul) of the alchemist, sort of like a (photo) negative of that person.
