2022-09-02 21:46:49 +0000 UTCThere's no dependency between the two shows, Dana Terrace was a storyboard artist and animator on Gravity Falls and then created her own show, The Owl House after. She's in a relationship with Alex Hirsch, who is a popular voice actor and the creator of Gravity Falls, but he also voices a character in The Owl House. You don't need to have seen GF to see TOH at all.

2022-09-02 17:49:03 +0000 UTCInteresting and gravity falls is certainly.something I may check out after seeing the owl house but I don't really see it as that big a deal to watching every show the show runner worked on before that show. It can make some fun connections and stuff and in this case this show js clearly heavily influenced by her time there but I just fond the concept a bit strange

They're very similar shows with a lot of the same people working on them, but they're not actually connected outside minor easter eggs. Most people watch GF first because it came out first, but watching Owl House first isn't gonna negatively impact the experience of either show

One suggestion (and might be too much) is to have Appa be King and in your arms or something. Plus it'll be adorable. Good art just not hitting me the way the other art has done with drawing my mind to the show
