i think it's kinda funny how you guys never seriously considered that father made hohenheim and you were fully on the hohenheim made father train :D

2023-01-22 06:54:37 +0000 UTCScar's "I'd like to hear more details about this" is honestly one of the most intimidating things I've heard in a show. Like you've just seen what Father can do, but it still _feels_ like he's the one in danger.

2022-09-10 02:26:38 +0000 UTCHe didn't say he doesn't respect alchemist. He said All Humans are less than bugs. Weather alchemist or not, it doesn't matter. He thinks Humans are less than nothing lol. Nothing to do with Alchemy, it's just his feelings towards Humans.

2022-09-08 22:54:24 +0000 UTCi think what Wrath said before means he has only 1 soul in his stone cause they all killed each other for dominance, but with the other ones they have multiple souls. thats what i believe and it explains how Wrath can age unlike the other homonculi.

2022-09-04 20:16:10 +0000 UTCI think they asked for a list of which episodes have post-credits scenes awhile back so hopefully they have that list on hand for future episodes

2022-09-04 15:58:27 +0000 UTCPost credit scenes don't happen every episode, but they do happen from time to time and there are certainly more of them coming, so it's probably a good habit to keep an eye out. Anything with Father is interesting so worth watching the one after this episode.

2022-09-04 06:56:37 +0000 UTCI have watched and rewatched this entire show more than 10 times now, however watching together with you two still gives me goosebumps! As I watch your reaction, episode by episode, I tended to erase my memory and making an assumption with you two is very fun ^^, love your videos so much, thank you. :)

2022-09-04 04:54:09 +0000 UTCNot really sure where you guys got the idea that Father doesn't know who Hohenheim is when he called him by his full name. Or that Ed and Al being his children is some secret. He just hasn't seen Hohenheim or kept up with him in a long time. My cousin has a child but I didn't know that when the child was born simply because I am physically in a different place and have not kept up. Also, I thought it was pretty clear that Father, the guy who is pulling philospher stones out of his forehead, is using philosopher stones. As for Greed, Avarice means Greed and he's saying that they were referring to his pass incarnation. It is the same Greed without his memories and without his own body.

2022-09-03 21:35:10 +0000 UTCAdding on to earlier stuff. This story is so good at dropping subtle context clues. Think back to when the brothers first met Dublith Greed. That Greed says "apart from my regeneration and ultimate shield, my body is human." Now look at Scar, able to kill Gluttony multiple times with his destruction, but it doesn't work on Father. So that should tell you something huge about him. Also Kenny was absolutely spot on with the alkahestry thought almost immediately. Think back to what Scar's brother said in the flashback. Really excited for the rest of the show after this episode. I always feel like this episode is the true end of the last arc, and now we're transitioning to new stories, new characters, and old characters with different lenses.

2022-09-03 07:10:51 +0000 UTCI imagine this probably got cleared up at some point already, but to be safe: Father does say he knows who Hoenheim is, he just said he didn't know Hoenheim had kids. I read the FMA manga over a decade ago and loved it. Seeing it animated so many years later along with you guys has been great as my memories awaken just a bit at a time. I forgot about the details of the Greed return right up until it happened, haha. It is a fun way to experience this again.

2022-09-03 01:03:12 +0000 UTCI think the blood of a homunculus would dissolve when separated like the rest of the body does when a piece is separated and not fuse with the human at all.

2022-09-02 22:55:05 +0000 UTCQuick note, not sure why this episode didn't have much pausing but it would be useful since there is a lot of information dropped here and you may miss things if you don't pause when you want to talk about stuff.,

2022-09-02 22:06:34 +0000 UTCYeah was coming here to say that y'all may have missed that Father does know who he is, he just doesn't call him Hohenheim, he asks if they mean Van Hohenheim, a person he knows but presumably is not in contact with since he doesn't know Hohenheim has kids.

2022-09-02 22:05:07 +0000 UTCAlso Avarice is another word for Greed

2022-09-02 20:59:22 +0000 UTCWas so excited to see that this episode was posted today!! Was not expecting any updates today, but glad there was! Not sure on the confusion on Father not having to use equivalent exchange since we have seen that before with characters that possess philosopher stones. But, to be fair, there is a lot going on this episode and with you guys watching multiple shows and living life, I guess details like that get forgotten. No worries though! Just glad you both seem to enjoy the show!

2022-09-02 20:41:54 +0000 UTCGreed was reabsorbed by Father, wiping the previous incarnation of him. The new one generated and put in Ling is essentially a fresh Greed with no previous experiences.
Dead Man Talking
2022-09-02 20:23:42 +0000 UTCBTW Avarice is the antiquated word for greed commonly used in the bible. Similar to wrath which is synonymous with anger and sloth which is synonymous with laziness.

2022-09-02 19:38:06 +0000 UTCSo excited you guys released this episode!! Jsyk there was a short after credits scene you missed; it’s def not one of the most important post credits scenes but it may potentially spare some confusion in the future

2022-09-02 19:36:17 +0000 UTCBeen waiting for this particular reaction lol
Eric Smith
2022-09-02 19:23:14 +0000 UTCAvarice is a synonym for greed, they often use it to avoid confusion with Greed the character (see also Wrath the furious, Sloth the indolent, Lust the lascivious, etc)
Eric Smith
2022-09-02 19:10:00 +0000 UTCThe word Father said was "avarice" it's a synonym for uncontrollable greed, but in this case they matched mouth flaps since greed is only one syllable. It might've looked weird if they had to add extra single syllable words, which is something that happens very rarely in this show.
imcalledgpk
2022-09-02 19:09:44 +0000 UTCIt's more like father is asking do you mean this Hohenheim? It be like asking do you know Kenny and not giving anymore info on which Kenny.
Sweet Demise
2022-09-02 19:03:40 +0000 UTCAlso, a detail you might not have picked up on is the difference in color when it comes to alchemy. Whenever someone does a transmutation, there's some kind of light that comes from it. The light we see when Ed, Al, May, or anyone use normal alchemy/alkahestry is blue. But whenever we see alchemy powered by a philosopher's stone, the light is red, like the stone itself. We saw this all the way back in the first episode with the Freezing alchemist, as well as with Cornello, and every time the Homunculi heal themselves there is also red light, as it is the stone's power healing them. You were asking how Father can bypass equivalent exchange, or do the things he does, but we have also seen a philosopher's stone drop out of him like blood. And whenever he does alchemy in this episode it has the same red light. So, it's pretty clear that there's correlation there.

2022-09-02 19:01:02 +0000 UTCAs others pointed out, I think you misunderstood Father's reaction to Hohenheim's name. He says "Hold on, do you mean Van Hohenheim?", showing that he *does* know and remember him, it's just implied that it's been such a long time since he heard the name that it took him a second to realize who they were talking about. It's kind of interesting because a lot of first time watchers naturally assume that Ed and Al's significance to Father's plans has at least something to do with Hohenheim. But it turns out, despite that Father and Hohenheim are clearly connected, that his interest in Ed and Al had nothing to do with Hohenheim at all.

2022-09-02 18:50:54 +0000 UTCTo clear up the Hohenheim/Father thing. They know each other, it’s just been so long since they actually met, that Father was surprised that he went and had kids.

2022-09-02 18:38:53 +0000 UTCThe way I've always thought of the multiple Greeds is essentially that because they stem from Father's greed, they are effectively the same. But the original iteration we met with his own experiences and memories is dead. This new Greed is basically a copy of the old Greed with no experiences or memories. I also think you may have misunderstood about Father and Hohenheim. It wasn't that Father didn't know who Hohenheim was, as he said "Hohenheim, you mean von Hohenheim?" He definitely knows who Hohenheim is, just that he's apparently not been in touch with him in a long time considering he didn't know about Ed and Al being Hohenheim's kids.
