It applies to pretty much everything in the show. The whole thing is just smaller acts absolutely snowballing out of control. Arguably none of this would have happened had the kids not tried to rob Jayce, and even more than that, none of this would have happened had Piltover just not exploited, oppressed and ignored the Undercity. This ending, Jinx herself and the chaos she brings, is a result of everyone's mistakes.

Holy cow I just realized something after rewatching your reaction... years later: "The Monster You Created" ... Jayce made the weapon that Hiemerdinger cautioned him about, that ultimately was used to kill the Council... Jayce created the power source that funded EVERYTHING. In the pursuit to do great, he failed to do good. Hiemerdinger was right to warn them and since they ignored his warning, all of this took place. If not for the hextech weapons (gloves and hammer), the war wouldn't have happened and VI would have just stole away her sister rather than hit everything... Jayce's hextech hasn't had a lot of good outcomes considering they are leading his best friend to insanity and killed all the progress he was making.

There's no real cliffhanger here. The whole arc of Arcane first season story is done. Sure, you may wonder potentially about the fate of the council members, but this is the best ending you could've hoped for. It literally is a masterpiece ending.

Also want to add that one of the most important Silco moments is his conversation with Vander's statue. It's the moment he comes to finally understand Vander and it's the moment that fully answers the question of does Silco actually care for Jinx. The moment alone elevates Silco to one of my all-time favorite animated villains.

One of my favorite things about this episode is how Vi legitimately doesn't understand the person her sister has become, and has no idea how to help her, while Silco, whether you think he genuinely cares or not (I think it's more complicated than a yes-or-no question) does end up helping her deal with her trauma. It's not a healthy way to deal with her trauma, but it's effective either way. Vi tries to remind Powder of the past, because Vi draws strength from her past, from the people she's lost, like when Vander showed up to give her a pep talk during her fight with Sevika. The thing is, the people Vi mentions are all dead because of Powder's mistake. Instead of drawing comfort from the past, she's traumatized by it. She separated herself from Powder's mistakes by becoming Jinx, and spent years trying to widen the gap between her current self and the person she used to be. By telling her to remember her family, Vi is only causing her pain, like ripping open old wounds.

I just finished binge watching The Owl House over the last three days. So I'm kind of on the fence now between The Owl House and The Dragon Prince. It really depends on which way you want to go. If you want to react to something that starts out light hearted but builds up over time similar to She-Ra, go with the Owl House. But if you want something that starts out with a driven story with good character development, then go with the Dragon Prince. You won't be disappointed with either.

The Owl House is the best choice, by the time you start itll be finished and its just under a year with 43 episodes, around march the series finale will be coming out which will boost your views, + lots of She-Ra Overlap Dragon Prince is in 2nd place, not because its necessarily better than young justice( the first season has really not great choppy animation and I haven't seen young justice), but it only has 27 episodes and tells a mostly complete tale/arc and the sequel series will be out in Novemember potentially giving you a views boost Young Justice is 98 episodes long so it will take just under 2 years to finish(just in time for arcane lol) but it is also ongoing and not finished and reportedly has high quality storytelling- but from what I heard it tends to take on a tell not foreshadowed approach to plot twists Star Wars is the WORST choice if has over a hundred episodes so you guys will be watching for over 2 and a half years, only 20% of the episodes/arcs are good 50% are varying levels of okay and a whole 30% are filler/just bad

Jinx DID have a reason to shoot Silco : He was aiming the gun at Vi and were ready to kill her. So Jinx instinctively protected her sister and killed him first. That proves that she values her sister's life more then her father figure. And I think Vi realised that, and that's why she may not give up on Jinx (yet).

What’s crazy is if Vi had never told the council about Jinx when they asked who created the bombs, Jayce would have never asked Silco to hand her over and they would’ve probably agreed to peace. If Vi had said like Sevika or something, Silco would’ve probably accepted the terms. I’m not saying Vi is the bad person here or anything. It’s clear why she did it and that she never intended to help them catch Jinx. She was just making the council believe she had what they want, as she said in episode 5. Still unfortunate tho, a lot of “What if’s” this series.

Jinx heard the click of the gun and instinctively protected Vi in the only possible way: killing Silco.

Thank you so much once again for another fantastic journey through one of my favorite shows ever! Jinx's last lines to Vi, especially the beginning first two lines: "I thought maybe you could love me like you used to, even though I'm different..." A L W A Y S makes me cry from then until the end of the song/episode. Wild to think that in the behind-the-scenes material, they reveal that one of the main writers wrote those last lines in like...an hour. Cannot wait to share season 2 with you guys!

Vi never accepted her as Jinx, that was Jinx's entire point at the end when she chose her seat. Vi wanted Powder back and even if they had run off together, Vi was searching for a way to revert Jinx to Powder. Silco, by contrast, embraced who she had become and never made her feel bad about it. That was the entire point. We know Vi meant well, but good intentions don't always land the way we'd hoped they do. Both Vi and Silco were flawed in how they tried to relate to Jinx, but only Silco unconditionally loved whoever she turned out to be while Vi just made excuses for her behavior, i.e. denial. More than once Jinx saw that her sister was mortified by who she'd become.

You both HAVE to consider Steven Universe and Over the Garden Wall!! Both of them are amazing shows! Over the Garden Wall is a mini-series that has only 10 11 minute episodes and would be perfect for Halloween time. Steven Universe has 5 seasons and a total of 160 episodes which are similar in length to Over the Garden wall, it also has a 20 episode epilogue series called Steven Universe Future! I think you guys would love both of them!

I didn't even notice it was a cliff hanger til a second watch and I don't consider it one. As you said it's an ending of these character arcs. I got closure in this for a lot while still leading enough. To me the exact outcome of who dies and who doesn't in the blast doesn't really matter. Besides Mel. I assume Jayce and Viktor are safe one way or another and not holding my breath for them. Going be some casualties but I'm not waiting to find out what's going happen with the missile. I'm waiting to see where we go next for all the other characters. I don't care about the cliff here. The jumped off happened.

There are SOOO many things that can happen now, and questions that remain unanswered. It is absolutely a cliffhanger. The fact that they have left so many unanswered questions while also providing a satisfying end to this stage of the characters arcs simply makes it a damn good cliffhanger, and not a cheap way to sucker in the audience into a profitable season 2. It's an emotionally satisfying ending, but it still left us hanging off that cliff.

Another major theme, if not THE major theme, is one of Revolution versus Reform. Both Vander and Silco wanted the Undercity to be happy and prosperous, free of the malignant influences of Piltovers elites, but Vander saw violence and revolution as ultimately destructive and not worth the cost, while Silco wanted to go to war. Vander would make deals with the enforcers to keep things peaceful and police his own little community, while Silco wanted to risk everyone for the chance to finally be free. At least, until he knew the cost. And this tension spread to all the other characters who are ultimately determining the fate of Zaun. Side note, there is a VERY solid theory about what that was in Singed's lab at the very end. I think the theory is correct, but it would be a massive spoiler for season two if correct (And I bet it is). Pulls from some game knowledge though. Similarly big "spoiler" for Viktor. A screenshot from the game could blow your mind (And show where his story is going)

I don't consider that a cliff anger. Thematically I felt like there is closure to most plot pot points and while there is plenty of room for season 2, ending with Jinx firing an attack on the council seems a pretty clear ending. Its her final embrace of Jinx, it's Vi realizing how far her sister went, peace isn't an option really and its just picking up where the pieces next.

Credit to Schnee on YouTube for this, which I believe he brought up in one of his Arcane videos. What’s interesting is the signs of Jinx’s mental issues in Act 1. When Vi and Powder see their parents dead, Vi breaks down and Powder shows little emotion towards this and seems more sad because she sees Vi cry. Then in episode 3, after everyone dies, Powder starts breaking down after asking “Why did you leave me?” implying that she’s more traumatized by Vi leaving than by accidentally killing her family

Bear in mind last time Sevika and Vi fought, Vi got the drop on Sevika and gave her a flying knee to the face as an opening move! I love the subtleties of Jinx's animations after she kills Silco. It's... exhaustion. Resignation. Even the way she runs her gun across Silco's chair as she walks past, you can see the grief, the shock in the weak floppiness of her arms. She's not choosing to to sit in Jinx's chair... she's realising she can never escape it. She's killed both of her families. She's a Jinx. A realization like that's just got to kill your soul. As a writer, I have to be the guy that says: THIS IS NOT A CLIFFHANGER. It is by definition Not a cliffhanger. The major dramatic questions of the season are answered, both whether Powder will fully become Jinx and be "beyond ssaving" and whether the topside and the under city will go to war. You care about the characters so you want to know who lives and who dies, but the actual explosion going off is the tip off of a whole NEW conflict, it isn't leaving current conflict unresolved. Rant over. FanTAStic reaction, I was emotionally with you two just as much as when I first watched it. Wow

This show really came out of nowhere at the end of 2021. Absolutely no one was expecting it to be this good. How often do shows/movies based on video games turn out well? Basically never. I remember when I finished it, I had to watch a bunch of video essays about it to cope 😂 seriously, there are so many analysis videos on different aspects of this show it’s insane. There is just so much to love. They nailed literally everything. I love all these characters, they’re so well written and well designed. Even characters you think you have figured out end up surprising you because this show just constantly subverts expectations. Best first season of anything I’ve ever seen for sure. The only thing I’m unsure about is how future seasons will turn out, because they’ve set the bar so ridiculously high in just 9 episodes that it’s gonna take a lot to keep up that momentum. From what we’ve seen so far tho, I definitely believe this show has a chance. And now we begin the agonizing wait for season 2. In the meantime, we can just rewatch these 9 episodes over and over again 😅

It's really too bad that Vi was stuck in the past - growing up in prison meant she never got to see those she cared for getting older and growing, and she also was somewhat stuck as the kid she was when the bomb went off. It meant that Vi wasn't capable of seeing Jinx as anything but Powder, while Jinx wanted Vi to accept her for who she was *now*. If Vi hadn't been traumatized in her own way, if she'd been able to see her sister as she was now, rather than who she wanted her to be, I honestly think things could have turned out much better between the two of them.

And to follow through with that; Silco shot at Vi because he knew everything Vi was saying was destroying Jinx mentally (Vi saw all of the names she was mentioning as a positive influence; whereas to Jinx, they were the monsters that tormented her constantly). He didn't want to kill Vi, he wanted to protect Jinx from the pain Vi was causing.

Riot and Fortiche (the animation studio Riot worked with for Arcane) have previously made other League of Legends related music videos, one name RISE (ft. The Glitch Mob, Mako, and The Word Alive) and another called POP/STARS by a virtual group of League of Legends characters called K/DA (ft. Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE, Jaira Burns) (it's pronounced K-D-A, btw :)) K/DA in particular became such a massive success that Riot made several other songs and music videos for the group, including an EP. The POP/STARS video has over half a BILLION views on YouTube, so it's definitely massive. A video of you reacting to multiple of the videos together with the Enemy music video would be amazing. If you need a quick rundown of the concepts and videos, I'll be happy to provide one. The RISE video in particular tells a very specific story, but requires a little bit of background knowledge to really make 100% sense of. It's still an amazing video and song and you can definitely watch it without prior knowledge though.

So an interview with the writers of the show explained that season 2 will be the conclusion of these characters arch's and then season 3 will be different lol character focused, somewhere completely different, different story etc. Probably the best way to go to get as many lol characters and stories out there.
