Fate unlimited blade works actually gained Ufotable the nickname "unlimited budget works" amongst fans. I also feel like you would get a kick out of it if you're interested in history lol

Some other good series would be ranking of kings, vinland saga and one of my other favorites but a really underrated series in my opinion is welcome to demon school Iruma-kun! Just some of my ideas what I would like you to react to.

2022-09-14 08:25:27 +0000 UTCFruits Basket 2019 is really good. If you want an older less talked about suggestions, I suggest .hack//SIGN, Cyborg 009 (2000), and Android Kikaider. All of these anime have a lot of psychology to talk about. .hack//SIGN deals with a main character who escapes to a virtual world because reality is too hard to live and doesn't want to be saved, but along the way, they make friends who want to help them. It also deals with LGBT themes in a pretty realistic, but positive manner. Cyborg 009 is about people being turned into cyborgs against their will and rebelling against the organization that tried to turn them into weapons. Android Kikaider is like anima Pinocchio, but instead of a puppet, it's a robot who desires to be human and learns what it means to have a conscience.

I absolutely recommend Clannad and Clannad: After Story. Probably one of the first non-mainstream anime I ever watched and it became one of my all time favourites

Despite its age, it still has unbeatable fight choreography, animation and style is really honed in, and the characters are very enjoyable and multidimensional. My only gripe is its fanservice moments, but you'll face that with pretty much any shounen, doesn't matter when it was made.

MP100 final season is starting soon and Dr. Stone has a few more seasons before the end. Death Note and Hunter X Hunter are finished (HxH the manga is ongoing, but the anime concluded). Episode count wise, MP100 is the shortest (~36 inc. final season), and HxH the longest (148). Death Note has 37, and Dr. Stone has 35 and a double length special episode.

Though I'll admit I'd be more excited to see you both watch MHA based on what Kenny's told Montana about the show already, DN does have a shorter episode count so you'd get through it faster. Another anime I'd like to throw out there is Fruits Basket (2019)! It's not near as popular as some other shounen anime but the entire series is essentially a deep-dive into exploring/processing trauma and relationships. Considering Montana's psych background I think y'all could add some really good insight and catch the themes of FB perfectly. I'd love to have y'all consider it as a future series if nothing else.

It's just a bit shorter than FMA at exactly 50 episodes, and it's probably my favorite anime, tied with FMA. It's a shounen mecha anime that deals with the experience of growing up, alongside strong themes of xenophobia, generational trauma, and the horrors of war, but it's got a really great love story at the center. The animation is beautiful and the music is incredible, it's got great action, but the characters are where it really shines. All in all I think y'all would really love it and have a lot to talk about, so even if it doesn't happen next I hope you'll consider it in the future!

It's an incredible show, it's ending on a third 12-episode season this year and if it follows the manga and the adaptation holds up (no reason to think it won't) it'll end really well too. Short and sweet, and based on the stuff you've enjoyed on the channel already I can pretty much guarantee you'll both love it. Out of the two you listed I'd say Death Note. Dark and psychological but also with a really weird zanyness to it that I think you'll get a kick out of. MHA has a lot of fans and it's popular for a reason (it's also really interesting seeing a Japanese take on western superheroes), but personally I feel it really loses momentum about 50 episodes in and the more recent seasons have been a real slog. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Mirai Nikki for some diturbing stuff, and if u are interested in movies, your name for romance and wolf children which i feel have some great talking points, my neighbor totoro is great as well especially if u want to share with kids, tokyo ghoul also for some darker theme, soul eater is also a fun pick with a interesting world building, naruto for some of the og stuff and gundam for politics and mech suits, another sad romance and magic is charlotte, slice of life there is toradora, clannad and himouto,umaru-chan, my teen romantic comedy was also not bad

The pacing in the middle is weird and there won’t be a lot to react to unless you really engage with the philosophy of Christianity and non-violence for a bit. However, overall an amazing pick, probably the overall best series I’m seeing recommended to you guys. My Hero is one of my favorites, and with the new season coming out, you will see amazing things. It has really strong characters and plot. I strongly recommend getting into it now while it’s not as long as a classic anime. MHA would be a super fun ride for you guys to have and start showing Montana more anime troupes. Deathnote will keep you in the same type of anime as you currently enjoy with AoT and FMAB but nostalgia makes people forget it’s weaknesses. If you want some crime/psychological thriller aspects it will be interesting and there are scenes that would be my favorite reactions from you guys ever. The psychology background for Montana will be huge and Kenny will catch a lot with his eagle eyed editing. I think this will be the most engaging pick.
