Enjoy! Next Episode coming in the next few days!

Attack on Titan really screwed them up for a while thinking every single scene of every show had significant importance 😅

Renn.88

Literally don't even care that this is old bc yall still act just as braindead, maybe next time listen and you won't need clarification .

Noctis lucis

I've never seen people more confused by natural human emotions before in my life

Noctis lucis

Montana questioning Kimbley "consuming the stone like a jolly rancher" in the intro has me rolling. That's the perfect comparison.

MeggieHammie

My take on Knox is that he feels like he has completely defiled the purposed of his education as a doctor. I think it's interesting because people talk a lot about PTSD in war time but rarely talk about the psychological damage to people who have to actually deal with the bodies. I've heard a lot of stories that the tole it takes is massive to see so many violent unnatural deaths caused by human action in particular cases of suicide. I think he pushed his wife and family away because of his guilt.

Mikey

A horse walks into a brothel and --- Montana: Who's Venessa?

Fukkyu Bisch

Knox also took part in the Ishvalan War as well, analyzing the various victims that mustang burned for data on pain tolerance which he has a whole conveersation with Marcoh about in the manga, as well as about how how he as a dr is being made to take lives instead of saving them like the rockbells did. I wouldn't be surprised if Knox was made to also analyze the corpses of the Ishvalan's attacked by other alchemists to find out what was the most effective method of causing damage. Also Fu is Lan Fan's Grandfather not her Father

Jaelyn Mcgee

Nah, I can't say I agree with that take. This little side story was subtly built up over the last several episodes. It really was not sudden in the slightest. This is just an extreme version of overthinking things. Hasn't really bothered me before, but oh boy, this episode was a particularly tough watch for me. I'm sure it will get better though.

Tmatts

At the same time, there was definitely some "underthinking" in regards to Knox. Like, I think part of the confusion there was that he tried to throw away the picture of his family, and yet seemed to really miss them when they showed. That's not too confusing if you dig a bit deeper into that. People get rid of mementos of people they love all the time when there's hurt and estrangement involved all the time. Dudes getting rid of the photo because he thinks he'll never see them again and that hurts is all.

AE Jones

You guys really don’t get it. Knox doesn’t feel worthy of gratitude or normal human relationships because he’s wracked with guilt over his complicity in the extermination. He had to do inhumane things to the ishvalens. He rejects his family because he feels unworthy.

NICK FROST

Mustang is terrible driver because Hawkeye would always chauffeur him around everywhere

Oppiee

Damn I love over thinkers and analytical people when they watch stuff. It was so amusing seeing you get tripped up over seeing that the Doctors family may indeed NOT be related to Bradley's adopted son.

Devon P

Literally what I thought, watching the first time. Didn't know how I would explain that info got leaked, but I was still terrified.

Derrick C. Shields

I think there is a difference between letting someone be wrong and letting a person overthink a small detail longer than needed.

Darthwin Wright

I wish people would chill a little bit and just let you guys be wrong (when it happens, because it happens to everyone when it's their first time watching something). I hope you guys are enjoying the show and all its confusing curveballs it likes to throw.

MissSunFlower94

ur totally right, sometimes this is bound to happen! it just baffles me how us misinterpreting a moment can genuinely upset people though haha, thanks for understanding

Letts React

I think it was more because they suddenly popped in during a the plot so I can get why that sequence of events could throw someone off a bit. That and if one is used to plots where a lot of the small details have hidden meaning you can end up going in circles for the wrong piece of information.

Darthwin Wright

How fucked would it be if the doctor's wife or son was actually envy in disguise

Jeffrey D

Honestly, I think you guys just tend to over think things. It happens when you don't have much experience watching animes. There are common troups to watch out for, but then you can also fall into the mindset of thinking everything has a secret meaning that you're trying to figure out. 👍

Sou saetern

So best I can understand the Coroners feelings is that after the war he's traumatized from seeing all the bodies mutilated by alchemy on the battlefield. He sees himself as a broken individual, basically the ultimate Debbie downer. So I think he distances himself from his family because he thinks he'll just drag them down and that being with them will only make them sad. It hits so hard when you see his tears, he's begging God to give him the strength to not be a force of negativity in his family's life due to his trauma. He just wants to enjoy a cup of coffee with his family without thinking of all the nightmares of ishval.

KeanuofRivia

When Fu broke down crying and Saying 'You fool" repeatedly, I feel like that was less directed towards Lan Fan and more of him calling himself a fool for letting that happen to her. I don't think he was blaming her but more that he was blaming himself for what happened.

Cpt Babyface

A random question for Kenny: what's the schedule looking like with the arcane replacement show episodes? Are you planning to do a bunch of those in one go or one a week or something else?

fr0st

Also bear in mind that the main reason Ed joined the military and does what he is ordered on their behalf is to get their bodies back. Once they accomplish that goal, he doesn't need the military's funds or clout and can presumably retire from service and have his own life.

fr0st

for ed's life going back to normal, he might not have as in your face issues as Al, but that doesn't mean his life is easy. Ed is an amputee, just because their world has more advanced prosthetics as ours doesn't change that. like you mentioned, he can't go out in extremely hot weather, but there's a lot more than that. it's hard for him to swim, his metal limbs cause him intense pain when the weather gets rough, they stunted his growth because they were too heavy. Just because he can get around and doesn't complain because Al has it worse doesnt' change that it

bloodyshadow1

Glad to hear it's clarified but honestly surprised that both of you were confused by the oldest story in the book: someone who's done things he can't forgive himself for and he feels like he doesn't deserve to even be called a doctor, much less thanked and loved by a family. Good theorizing with the Salem thing, Dr Knox's kid did look like Salem, but also just a dark haired child so an easy mistake to make. It's sweet to see Knox getting his little redemption moment helping people and seeing that his son is inspired by him to help people despite their estrangement.

fr0st

I can understand that. Blind reacting to a show helps form many theories that remain a mystery until more answers are given.

Snow

In retrospect ur totally right, I just like to make up theories and sometimes misinterpret scenes cause I’m looking for theories haha

Letts React

The whole scene with Dr Knox really isn't confusing, it's a broken family trying to reconcile and reconnect. I'm not exactly sure why that was so hard to understand; the show makes it clear each character has their own flawed paths and it's affected the people in their lives.

Snow

I mean....family dynamics can be super complicated sometimes and VERY messy. I don't really understand why it's so bewildering.

Tmatts

If you wanna see more of what Roy did in ishval watche ova 4 “another man’s battlefield” it focuses on both Roy’s time in the academy and in ishval

Mortis

ahh my little royai shipping heart is so happy to see you guys also loving their moments. every time i watch the chessboard scene, i get so excited about the "they've even taken my queen" line. next ep is one of my favorites, im super excited to see your reactions!

zahra

love the chess discussion in this episode, was really interesting to listen to!

Kyra Sun

We totally did, but this is what happens with blind reactions! We can’t really know what’s correct haha

Letts React

You have blessed me with clarification haha my friend Chris also told me about all this so we’re clear now

Letts React

Roy and Knox talked about it in previous episodes so this isn’t spoilers. Knox was the military surgeon specializing in autopsy during the Ishval Civil War. He suffered PTSD when he returned. One night, his wife tried to wake him and, mistaking her for an enemy soldier, Knox tried to kill her right there in their bed. They divorced soon after that and Knox moved away from his wife and son.

Shane Gilroy

For me, Dr Knox basically thinks he doesn't deserve to be happy after ebing ordered to dissect the Ishavalan corpses during the war. He keeps acting like a grumpy old man because he thinks he shouldn't. This is basically just completing his arc of him since we saw him cover for the Maria Ross autopsy. When he's crying, it's cause he's happy to finally see his family again and even though he thinks he doesn't deserve to be happy, he's still asking God to let him have a moment of happiness with his family.

Philippe Lacombe

Dr Marco always reminded me of real life Dr Oppenheimer. In his pursuit to advance alchemy, he regrets his actions and the destruction and death his work caused.

Shane Gilroy

I hope they catch what they missed in editing

Poet

Like others have said, Dr. Knox was involved in Ishval, but none of the stone stuff. In the manga, he was ordered to dissect corpses that Roy had burned, and it left him with PTSD so bad that he had outbursts in his sleep. In one instance, his wife tried to wake him, he thought she was an enemy soldier, and tried to kill her. They don't go as far into it in this show, only stating back in episode 23 that Knox "hasn't spoken to his wife since Ishval" or something along those lines.

imcalledgpk

I think Dr Knox is suffering from severe ptsd and guilt and when he returned home he just couldn't face them and pushed them away.

Jay SMARTASS

Dr Knox's son showing up is just a crazy coincidence that happens now to tie up his character arc starting from when he helped fake Maria Ross's death. He also shows us another person impacted by the war and how that shaped his perception of himself as a "doctor." His son wanting to be a doctor like him kinda saves his soul at the end.

Trayvon Brown

Dr Knox probably did some messed up shit in ishval that he felt guilty about. Which probably messed up his marriage.

Robin Jansson

You're overthinking the whole Doctor thing, he wasn't involved in the stone and he was simply separated from his wife, the town envy was talking about was the town Dr.Marcowas living in, remember Envy was using them as hostages, also Eds town is resembool (pronounced Risenbull). Rockbell is winrys surname
