Question: Series format

Generally speaking, do you all prefer when we are both blind reacting, or when I have seen something before and Montana watches for the first time. I feel like the positive of us both being blind is obvious, as it’s more surprising, but editing wise I can do a lot more when I know what’s coming, like with most of the Attack on Titan series. Only way to make a counter is if you know how high it will get, and that’s hard to do if you haven’t seen it before.

This is just a general discussion post about this, feel free to comment whatever below!

Comments

They both have appeal. Double for obvious reasons. But watching you desperately hold back any hint of emotion to not reveal plot points, or the 4th wall breakers aare also entertaining in themselves! (hint hint MHA)

Jinchuriki87

I prefer double blind, but there is a show or movie you want to have Montana react to that you've seen before, that's cool, too.

Vex Valor

I think I prefer double blind for sure. Single blind not a deal breaker or anything, but definitely not quite as good.

Luke Murphy

I feel like I enjoy double blind more. I mean obviously, that’s the sweeter berry, but honestly only slightly sweeter. I enjoy the hell out of you guys every single time no matter what the level of awareness is, and I VERY much enjoyed the AoT half-blind series. It was fun in a different way than the full-blind AoT was when we got there. High caliber entertainment, both ways though, so. 😉

Andrew G

I enjoy both! I probably like both blind best cause the chaos of nobody knowing what’s going on but I have no issue with half blind reacts either!

Amelia Dornan

I like both for different reasons. Both blind is my favorite because it allows both of you to genuinely speculate and be surprised when twists happen but I like you having the knowledge to steer Montana either away from catching onto a twist too hard as well as clearing up questions she has while you watch. I wouldn't be bothered with either format but both blind is my favorite

Corey Porter

I enjoy both. So maybe do a mix of fully blind and half blind reactions (MHA maybe lol) it's funny to see how u react to Montanas theories when you already know whats gonna happen and when you have to mask your face lol. And I do really enjoy the counters and edits that you do.

Marcelo

Both are good but the blind reactions are a bit more fun bc both of y’all have input

Skye W.

Both options are awesome

Darthwin Wright

The "disoriented" speculation in early episodes can be frustrating, I agree, but that can also be handled by them subduing at-the-moment speculation for the first episode or two while they get the gist of the situation and setting. Just a sense of "don't go too far afield until we get a better handle on things", especially for a fully-fictional world like in FMAB.

JHB

I enjoy both options, but I do enjoy the blind reactions more than the "half-blind" ones.

Lucas Barros

I love both :)

Cameron Bray

Double blind is really fun since you it leaves more room for discussion. I wish you and Montana would do Centaurworld on netflix, it was severely under advertised but is stuffed with broadway powerhouses, animation reminiscent of She Ra and an insanely good story.

Logan

I honestly enjoy both of you being blind when reacting to stuff and seeing you speculate on what is going on and what might happen, as well as when it's just Montana blind reacting and you sit there being coy and a little smug about what's going on. The Attack on Titan Seasons 1-3 reactions prove that. I don't really mind what you do with the counters though.

Titan

I prefer blind too. I can more about you both having to speculate and guess about the plot and characters than the counter (although, don't get me wrong, I love the counter) but yeah, that's just my opinion :)

Cathy Breuer

I prefer blind just because when I watch reactions I like to relive watching a show for the first time through the reactors. But it's not the end of the world if you've seen it, I still enjoyed the first two Arcane reactions! I just like you and Montana being able to theorize what's going to happen next more than anything.

Leighton Williams

I prefer both blind. However if there is a show that you or Montana are passionate about that the other hasn't seen; like it was with ATLA; I'd still absolutely watch the reaction videos. So please don't watch something just because one of you has already seen it.

MacGuffin

I prefer both blind as well. The counters are a bit of fun but truthfully, they don't really add as much as you guys both reacting blind, and discussing the episode plus the inherent excitement.

Camzeee

I prefer both blind. That way you can have theory discussions without someone having to avoid spoilers. And I love Knney‘s reactions. But I wouldn‘t mind if it wasn‘t. If it is easier for editing, than it is also good

Haorii

I definitely prefer completely blind reactions.

Carabas

I don't really have a preference

Krisapphire

There is argument for pro and con. Some of the best reactions come from the dynamic between you two, when you do know and Montana doesn't. I'll just say AOT 4x5 cliffhanger. Montana looked really disappointed and angry that the cliffhanger came, and you helped her out on the one hand - with the comment: "this was also the worst cliffhanger" so far - and at the same time "savored" the situation. Three episodes further AOT 4x8 we had the first time a double blind reaction and your reaction and the facial expression when Gaby hits and shoots Sasha, was not to be surpassed. What I want say is: editing is important, but your reactions thrive on your great interaction. @Kenny: Awesome how you kept tight over 4 seasons of AOT, your willpower praise praise praise.

Retied

I generally prefer double blind but your a really considerate person when it comes to making showing Montana a show fun for her and us. So if theirs a good series you’ve seen but think shed love and make a good reaction then go for it

Mortis

Double blind is preferred

Cloaky

Both blind is much more enjoyable to me, you know the “reaction” part from both of you haha, editing is fine i think you should not overthink it Kenny.

Attila Kos

I much prefer you both going in blind. Better reactions that way.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

I think you showed a good restraint for Montana to still be surprised which is all the matters.

Andres Lozano

Personally, I lean towards double blind. As fun and entertaining as editing like counters is, I find reactions as a whole more entertaining when nobody knows what's to come. Plus, then you get to brainstorm and theorize together!

Jojo Rich

Both blind vote for me! I like both you guys speculating together over her bouncing ideas off you and you having to be coy or just nod your head and agree to Not spoil things for her.

Cody Simpson

Im fine with either as long as one of you is watching it blind

Gabe Plays Music

Both blind it’s not even close

Justin Spencer

to be fair i really like the dynamic during the videos when you and the audience know more than Montana, because it makes for funny moments and reactions to predictions

Mathies

I personally prefer double blind because watching the two of you speculate together is a major draw for me, you guys are so good at it 🤣 But it's also nice to have you offering spoiler-free details for Montana to improve her viewing experience, so I'm happy either way.

HamboneKablooey

Nicely put.

William Timmins

I think it depends on how intesne the lore is. For example FMAB sometime I get frustrated watching the speculation in the wrong direction because one of you talked over something that is kinda critical, but we can't tell you because spoilers. So one person knowing the details for clarity would be nice. But in something like shera where they kinda spell everything out visually both blind is very fun. Regardless I'll watch it. ESPECIALLY if you watch death note.

Æther Paradox

The "Montana fresh/you unfresh" were ok (I mean, that's how it started and we're all here, so it's not like it was bad), but you always had to bite down and shut up. For the both-blind series, in contrast, you're free to speculate, anticipate, and give your raw reactions and analysis too. You and Montana being able to freely bounce views and ideas off each other is more dynamic than when you have to stifle so that you don't say anything spoilery. (Mara voice:) Kenny, you are more than the counts and edits you have to give. You deserve reactions too!

JHB

I care more about the show itself than whether both are blind tbh. For example, it would have been sad if the Avatar reactions had never happened because both weren't blind. So yeah, as long as it's a good show, I'm fine with one or both blind, because they both have their merits.

Tmatts

Honestly I prefer whe you're both blind and I know what's gonna happen like with She Ra but obviously not gonna spoil it.

Zora Brightwood

I love the blind reactions because those are the most natural reactions

Malik Black

I like both

gabe killian

It depends, I guess. If it’s a show that you have already seen and you know Montana will enjoy it, then the counter could be fun. But blind reactions are more interesting because we (the viewers of the reactions) get your immediate initial reactions to a specific moment or situation taking place. Also, you and Montana make very interesting and different predictions during blind reactions and it’s cool to see you two bounce ideas off of each other.

Marcb92

While the YouTube edits are fun, I do definitely prefer double blind.

Eric Smith

Both are fine, but I do like it when you can both discuss theories without worry about spoiling things for Montana. So, for stuff you've already seen, that's fine, but i liked the She-Ra and Arcane reactions more for discussion purposes

Stephen Ray

I do enjoy that knowing look you give after Montana makes a prediction. Right or wrong.

BlueEyedRaven

Both blind reacting bc I like listening to u guys bouncing ur ideas off each other

Seth

Another possibility for counters and things is to have someone else edit those in after you finish the rest of the video for YouTube?

Jenny D

Honestly, I'm fine with both. There are pros and cons to both formats, and honestly loved seeing your reaction in AoT, knowing what's coming, as much as seeing her reaction, not knowing what's coming.

Gestrid

I think both blind makes it more interesting and entertaining to see true reaction from both of u. Also sometimes some kind of spoilers or point of view can affect ur overall experience

ABRIKOS102

Both blind is better I think, then we get to see both of your first reactions. And it leads to better discussions because you don't have to worry to much about not talking about certain things because spoilers, you can both talk and theorize equally as much. Though, we've seen series where you're both blind reacting, and where you've seen it but Montana hasn't, we haven't seen any series where you've been blind but Montana's seen it, that may be interesting to see at some point. Still wouldn't be better than both blind I think, but still fun

Silver Kyrie

I don’t really have a preference. Like you said there’s pros to both. I like seeing your blind reactions as well as Montana’s, although the benefit to you having already seen something (besides the fun 4th wall breaks) is that when I know a particularly good moment is coming up I can focus on Montana’s reaction. Otherwise there have been times where I’ve rewinded a moment—like the CaitVi wall scene—so I could see each of your reactions. Not that rewatching scenes like that is a negative by any means… I mean, in a perfect world without time restraints or the risk of overworking yourself you could do a solo reaction to a series before reacting with Montana, but obviously that’s not realistic.

Jenny D

I think both blind adds to the reactions and theories

Zzz Zzz

I really enjoyed seeing your realisations with AOT. Even if you've seen it before, with something as rich and complex as AOT there's always more to see on a second watch. It was fun to see you making connections and seeing things you might have missed or not fully understood the first time. Plus as someone who had seen it too, it felt like I was conspiring with you on big reveals 😅 cackling when you looked directly at the camera for a foreshadowing moment, or gasping along with you when realizations were made. I enjoy both, I'm having fun either way 😊

ADHD_Selkie

Also, absolutely no objection to one person reacting blind either. It opens up the path for shows you have possibly already seen and can explain tropey things such as with anime.

fr0st

I enjoy the blind reacts but it may be worth noting before starting a show if there is anything to be aware of, for example that fun little glitch in the AOT ending or the post credit scenes. Not the contents, just that you should do something extra so you don't miss those.

fr0st

I love when both of you are blind reacting. I'm really enjoying your FMAB reactions, and loved your arcane reactions in the later episodes. I prefer watching you guys react to shows you haven't seen before.

Blhu

Generally speaking I like the blind reactions a *little* more, but every now and then I miss the knowing looks you’d give the camera when Montana gets spooky spot on with a prediction

Velocity Paige

I say let it flow naturally with a slight preference for blind reaction - if there’s a show you know you’d want to react to, don’t watch ahead and just go in blind; however, if there’s a show you’re already invested in (or a show that needs prior viewing like Invincible), then watch ahead as much as you can/want (without overworking yourself!)

Velocity Paige

I prefer both blind and listen to you spin conspiracy after conspiracy and over analyze everything. THAT SAID basically all AOT you'd seen previous and I lived the work you did there.

Bradley Hall

I think it can be hard to discuss something when one party knows all the facts. It’s not impossible, but people aren’t perfect. Eventually they slip and they lead the conversation one way or another. Or they’re bad at keeping secrets. I generally enjoy blind reactions more.

Rare

Both blind

Blubber Nuggets

I prefer both blind but only not blind showni watched was season 3 of avatar and back then youbwere still getting a format together. It feels like you're heavy handed on guiding things and waiting for certain reactions when you know what's coming. Nit meant as an insult

Suplee215

I like both blind better but it's not that big a deal if you've seen something

Geneva

I can understand the benefit of you already seeing a series, but I personally like it when both of you can theorize.

Sazaraki

Both Blind, but there are some shows that I'd love to see even if one of you have seen it

brosenthalUO

Blind reacting

Valentina M

I like both blind, but I am open.

William Timmins

I don’t have a preference really

Moonlover13

I think both of you being blind is why I’m enjoying the FMAB reactions so much. Hearing both of you come up with predictions and theories is interesting and I love seeing the genuine reactions.

Tyler Toledo

Well it depends on how much one if you have watched something, like if one of you has watched an entire series or most of it(70%) it might not be worth doing a react series for a show

Blaster man1129

I like when you’re both going in blind

Arc_099_

I don't prefer either. I greatly enjoy both.

SDH

I prefer both of you guys blind reacting, it’s more fun :)

Melanie Meadows

I like both. Maybe in the future, you guys would react to each other’s favorite shows or movies. I think it would add something else to your videos

Justin Navarrete

I like both formats. I also would like to see Montana lead you in a reaction if there's any series that makes sense for her to do so. If it also makes sense for you to check something out to make sure she can handle it (like Invincible) maybe those become the series you have seen in advance of reacting with her.

Erik

Both blind reactions

Catradora fan

I think the blind reactions are funnier, seeing the reactions on your faces are really entertaining.

SimoDexx

I like it when you are both blind reacting

Zo Hunter

Def better when you're both blind reacting :)

lisadeann

Both blind reactions are the best

Jesus Castro

i think i prefer both being blind but i’d watch either way :)

kai

Personally, I prefer when you're both blind reacting
