Framerate issues aside, I find it gorgeous to look at. And I feel like that's where Kenny and Montana are at as well in their reaction. The framerate issues resolve in Season 2, and honestly, Season 2 is where the show went from being just a good and interesting show to a must see experience.

Also after watching this…. Idk about my earlier vote for owl house. I love them both but I have been so caught up in the hype of owl house since I found it while season 2 was airing I immediately voted for it. But after seeing this episode again after so long of dragon prince being on hiatus…. I kind of would love to see what you think of it. And I mean there is and will be enough owl house content on yt for awhile. Especially with the third and final ‘season’ about to start airing. So Im kinda leaning towards a vote for dragon prince now? Then owl house after that once its fully released? I mean either show I would LOVE for you to watch. Anyway, glad you enjoyed ep. 1!

For those asking about the animation, book 1 is all like this, while it is very choppy and doesnt look too great, I believe it was an experimental stylistic choice that obviously didnt end up going so well. So starting in book 2 it is much smoother and better looking. While it is a bit rough to get through in book 1, I think it is well worth it for the great story and I think its great that the team behind the show were trying to be creative and try something new, they also recognised the issues and were willing and able to change to the animation going forward.

@nazrel, im sorry but i dont buy that at all, ive seen many "traditional styles" as you put it, and none are as bad as this. I assume they bit off way more than they can chew in terms of budget when it comes to their animation style. It gets better in later seasons because the show has positive reviews and more money to work with. I just dont think its for me at all though that being said. Sad because the story does seem extremely fun

Also as a genuine, registered 'Scottish Person', Rayla's accent is indeed Scottish and not half bad. She goes a little jarringly hard on the 'Ah's instead of 'I's at the start of the show, but she sounds a lot more natural after the first few episodes. While the actor is Canadian, I think her parents were from here, so that tracks.

I really wish you could do both The Dragon Prince and The Owl House. But if I had to pick which one you should react to, it would be The Dragon Prince. Each episode drives the story and there's really no "filler" episodes. But I would not be disappointed if you decided on The Owl House as it's a fun series as well.

To clear up a tiny bit of confusion: Claudia and Soren are the ones we saw interacting with the Step Prince (those two are siblings). Ezran and Callum are the two brothers. All of which are human. The elves, we don’t really know their dynamic yet. The girl though was called Rayla. Also, please just say CG or 3D, not CGI. They are different things. As an Animation and Game Development graduate, it’s a mild pet peeve. 😅
