He was sent to murder and murder he did, indirectly causing the death of Winry's parents since he literally murdered Scar's family and injured Scar so badly that he ended up where he was and killed the first non Ishvalans he saw thanks to his trauma.

There's a scene in the manga that brotherhood cut that takes place in during the Ishvalan war, where Kimblee was sent to "accidentally" murder Winry's parents via friendly fire but obviously Scar beat him to it. One of the soliders comments that they were fools to help the enemy like that, but Kimblee corrects him saying that "killing and defeating the enemy is the duty of us soldiers, but saving lives is the duty of doctors", and that he liked people who stuck to their purpose, and that he would liked to have met them while they were still alive

In my personal opinion i view Kimbley as someone with an aberrant evil type of personality alignment. Which is a person who creates they're own personal code of ethics that they live by.(albeit twisted by normal society's views yet still has flashes of honestly, honor, respect and even empathy which is why i believe he meant what he said to Winrey) I think Kimbley truly did respect Winrey's parents for they're conviction and personal resolve and detests those who waiver from they're own. Which explains why he said what he did to Mustang, Hughes and Hawkeye in the Ishval war flashback several episodes back. In comic book terms you could think of many anti heroes having this type of alignment. The ends justifies the means for him if it furthers evolutionary knowledge and power which he covets.

2022-10-09 02:36:07 +0000 UTCKind of randomly cool that Gluttony is one of the younger sins created and he's childlike mentally, which checks out since being hungry and wanting food for sustenance and development is one of the basest things we do as infants, while Pride is the first sin and you only develop pride after living for some time and having something to be prideful of in your accomplishments or attributes. Also very in character of Pride to have his pride offended that Hawkeye compares him to Gluttony, haha.

2022-10-09 02:23:49 +0000 UTCi loveee hearing your guys' thoughts on this, and the pride reveal never ceases to give me chills. pride is just insanely creepy, and the fact that he's a kid just adds to it. you don't feel like a kid should be involved in such a messed up situation like this (similarly to how kids in horror movies are creepy because they just don't fit with the theme, which only amplifies the horror) and the fact that he's one of the main villains. just so insane.
