I say you get connected to the show in the first 10 or so episodes and it gets good there. season 2 is a different level of intensity for sure (that the finale of season 1 prepares you for) with a more connected plot line but the episodes really get good.

2022-10-22 01:28:20 +0000 UTCThe show knocks it out of the park by episode 3. The only issue with the show is that the frame rate is a little slow in the first season (which they fixed). The Dragon Prince gets to Legend of Korra intensity by ep. 3 and then stays there throughout the season. Season 2 takes it up a notch in every aspect and it is in many ways my favorite season. (I hope it's not too much of a spoiler, but one of the things I love about Season 2 is how they use music to reinforce thematic and visual motifs). Season 3 is climactic.

I loved the first season, I know some people hated the animation but I got used to it very quickly and it didn't bother me. Especially when you consider how Kenny and Montana are watching two episodes to decide what they're gonna react to first. I feel like shera would have lost if it were up in polls now if it's that slow at first. Dont get me wrong, I haven't seen the show, and I'm sure the investment is worth it, but a whole season is kind of alot to ask before a show gets good.

Just a thought to give you more time to get nominations in and get votes.

2022-10-19 00:50:01 +0000 UTCwell i suppose it’s subjective but i think shera and the owl house are amazing shera took me a while to get into, so ur not alone there, i wasn’t fully into it u til season 3ish (since it’s a pretty short show it wasn’t that long a wait) but there’s one solid episode in season 1 that rlly lets u know what the better episodes of the show will be like the owl house is kind of similar in that the first season feels a bit eh… it’s got a lot more enjoyable episodes in the first season IMO tho and it just gets so much better in season 2

S1 of She-Ra is definitely the one I've rewatched the least - if I hadn't been watching to spite the online misogynists fat-shaming a curvy character and whining She-Ra's appearance was less sexualized I may have stopped without seeing it all myself. It really picks up every season, I was quite impressed. But S1 is a lot of setting up the stage and world and feels more boring than the rest. ("Promise", episode 9 in S1, feels like one of the more intense episodes that's a sign of what's to come.) And Owl House is different but has the same tendency to pick up more serious tones as it goes on. I think the creator even said she didn't get to tell the story the way she wanted (because D_sney is overbearing) until late in S1. Long comment is long and I am biased. But some two cents. 😀 Edit: Jenny is correct and I meant episode 11, not 9. This is what I get for rushing to comment on breaks and not double-checking lol.

2022-10-18 20:06:12 +0000 UTCHaving watched both under a friend's recommendation, Shera gets good after season 1, but Owl House is good from episode 1 and later reaches heights above Shera. Ok yes, I am biased, but I would definitely recommend Owl House even if you weren't sold on Shera as they are very different stories with very different tones.

2022-10-18 18:54:52 +0000 UTCAlso, considering the direction that Western animation is going, I'd be surprised if Dragon Prince continues for much longer. I could be mistaken, but I don't think Netflix has actually greenlit 4 more seasons. They usually take it one season at a time, with a few exceptions. The team behind Dragon Prince laid out their plans for the show's intended duration, but Netflix could easily cancel it. :(

2022-10-18 18:46:27 +0000 UTCI'd be okay with that if Dragon Prince reactions were guaranteed to follow it, but I have a feeling that people will instead vote for Gravity Falls or Amphibia next time around and use that same logic. I love Gravity Falls, and I plan to watch Owl House and Amphibia in the near future, but I'd hate to see Dragon Prince get the Young Justice treatment.

Doing the Owl House would let y'all completely finish a series without having another pending series that's waiting on new episodes.
