Idk if it's been mentioned in another video already but luz in Spanish means light, so there was a bit of significance and foreshadowing that Luz's first spell was of light!

Vanessa

Thank you!!

In each episode one scene will have a coded word hidden somewhere in the background. Each word will have an eye symbol in front of it. Every episode has just one word except for 1x17, which has two. I’ve only been able to spot a couple despite many rewatches of the show, and the only one I’ve caught on my first watch was in 1x02. There’s a subreddit called r/OwlHouseMystery that keeps track of the secret messages and has a guide to decode them. This comment on their season 1 master post is about how they figured it out. https://www.reddit.com/r/OwlHouseMystery/comments/hoonow/owl_house_codes_master_post_updated_weekly/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

How do you detect the hidden words in the episode?

King1007

Jealous!

I don't know if you guys have looked up the voice actors but Hooty and King share a VA, which makes King's line about Hooty's horrible voice much funnier!

Yep, just a simple, non-complicated show to see here…Anyway, here’s the hidden coded message poem so far: 1: two 2: witches 3: torn 4: apart

Jenny D

Love that you went "we love a simple non complicated show" and then boom all the disability and mental health analysis the show addresses. One of those shows that is simple but with layers to dive in

We ALL can use a reminder sometimes for adhd meds haha this comment reminded me to take mine this morning lol

Agree. Honestly I think using the term filler for stuff outside of anime is a bit dubious. The original use of term in media context (in my understanding) refers to episodes that were literally created around stuff not in the magna to fill out a season. Applying it to episodes that just don't worry about the plot is putting a lot of emphasis on plot focused storytelling and that isn't the only form of story telling. Especially true in episodic shows where the show doesn't too much plot and js built on being a conflict of the week. And like many shows Owl House begin very episodic (both because it makes world building easier and as a story telling decision I think) before changing.

Firstly, I am so glad that you have chosen the series. So now for the real thing: after the third, unfortunately shortened season has started, I would suggest you watch the episodes so that you catch up and watch the last episode with the release date - probably in the spring. Then you can take the hype and streghten your channel. You did something similar with AoT. I have not found a source that gives the date of launch, so it is not possible to calculate it correctly, but it is probably not so important to be accurate to the day.

Everybody will be excited! However, there are a bunch of other episodes that are important and fun to watch. For me Convention, Hooty's Moving Hassle and Lost in Language to begin with! So I will enjoy them as they come in and when its time for Grom then its time!

I was watching this episode in the morning and at the end when Kenny says something about taking his ADHD medication I remembered I hadn’t taken my adhd meds for today so Kenny thank you for reminding me to take my meds

I feel like people need to stop using the term filler episodes when what they actually mean is fleshing out the worldbuilding. None of the episodes so far are filler, since they all flesh out important details about how this new world works and introduces new characters and settings that will play a major part in the show overall. Launching right into the main conflict without setting up the world and characters will feel exactly as the first episode of FMAB does, i.e. a big far "huh?" from anyone starting it

Hyperfixation is also a common trait for autistic people, and my main hyperfixation for the last year and a half has been The Owl House! When I get hyperfixated on something it’s like my brain becomes a dry sponge that just absorbs every minute detail until there’s nothing left to take in. It’s a lot of fun, but it can also be debilitating in everyday life. It’s so easy to lose track of time when I’m hyperfocusing on something. I have to be extra careful with my money to make sure I’m not impulse-buying everything related to my fixation that I can find. And I have to pay close attention in social situations to manage my urge to infodump on people who have little to no interest in the thing I want to talk about.

Luz learning magic hits me very hard, because I spent much of my childhood dreaming and wishing to discover real magic. So it's... suuuuch wish fullfillment to see her.

It's great that you guys are instantly picking up on the ADHD, the curse/chronic illness, and so on. This show is such an amazing sequel to She-ra in part because they are both really straightforward in terms of plot - actual mysteries are rare and the most important thing in (almost) every episode is the emotional / personal journey being taken.

emelsi

This is exactly what I needed for my mental health

I have a King plush now 😁

Catradora fan

Eda loves Apple Blood, it came up previously and will come up a lot. She's a wine aunt through and through

Loving the reactions! Was wondering if you know that as you go through the episodes the first letter of each episode title will start making words.it is really fun to put together after every episode!

Maria

Ok so this is a bit weird but here is how you identify a demon. Basically think of witches as the humans of the Boiling Isles and Demons as the animals. Anything that's not a Witch is a Demon. You know something is a Witch by elf like ears. So anything with non pointy ears is a demon. From what I remember this wasn't made super clear in the show. There are sub categories of demons but that's elaborated on later.

Bazil

aren’t we all

Chelly

Excited for grom!!

a good amount of the first season feels very filler (aside from sprinkles of plot like in this episode) but its also developing the characters and world a bit - and by the end of the season its rlly good... season 2 is also amazing and i cant wait for when u get there

awildjord

i promise toh does have a plot the first 10shi eps are there to develop characters and the setting but once you get to the plot.....prepair for ur soul to be crushed.
