Enjoy! next ep coming Monday!

thats so accurate, i feel like she couldve become such a dynamic character, but she just didnt get the chance for that. its really sad.

V is absolutely adorable. (spoilers) V feels like the biggest tragedy of the cancellation. I feel like we missed out on so much good V development in what would've been the full season 3.

Millie Long

V is adorable

The Best Nyaa

gravity fall is amazing. without it, i doubt we would have the owl house

James Mcdonald

This is still one of my favorite owl house moments even if it isnt in the main show lmao

slightecho

I was tearing up when the mom validated V.. So sweet.

https://youtu.be/Hl0bfmyKfJc There was a 6-month hiatus between Episode 10 & 11 due to COVID-19, so Dana Terrace on Twitter treated fans to 3 audio shorts from Luz , Lilith , & Hunter. Here's the link 🖇️ to the Luz Diary Entry. I'll post the others on separate posts

Also surprised nobody has mentioned it here but the final episode of the owl house released very recently so it is now fully complete, which is sad but exciting for when you folks get to it. Also, hopefully you already know but the third season only has three longer episodes so that may change up the reaction video times for you.

Love the reactions and looking forward to more interesting discussions about parenting a potentially neurodivergent kid and trying to make them confirm to society but also missing their little creative spark if it's suddenly all gone.

fr0st

Agreed. Having your kid excitedly tell you about a demon realm and monsters when she's ostensibly been with you the whole three months would be fairly standard "uh-huh, wow, cool, buddy!" sort of reaction from anyone because it is indeed an absurd story. I think it's kind of cool that Camilla goes along with it and tries to play along.

fr0st

Yeah that’s what I thought ‘live’ as in streaming, not ‘live’ as in making her not alive

This video was the definition of “almost but not quite”

When people say this marks the last of the 'happy portion', it's generally in the same sense as for Avatar:TLA Book 3: It's not that happy stuff didn't happen in Book 3, but it was getting closer to Comet Time. The confrontation with Firelord Ozai was looming ever and ever larger. Similar dynamic here, especially considering that TOH season 3 became abbreviated to three specials whose collective run time was about half that of a full season, so they needed to set up as much as possible in the latter half of Season 2 so that Season 3 could be devoted to The End and The Aftermath. So... it's not all doom and gloom from now on, but Belos is working toward whatever he has planned, and Crunch Time is coming.

The next couple episodes are gonna be fun :')

If you look closer at the picture from the book of the two brothers with the witch that the guy was showing Camila, you see a familiar-looking bird on the shoulder of Phillip's brother.

A couple of things to keep in mind as far as reaction to Camila... First, Luz is fourteen. I would be very concerned if a parent of a 14-year-old child was alright with their child choosing (Luz did say she chose to stay) to remain in a potentially dangerous alternate universe. Second, we've seen that Luz is not always a reliable narrator. I get that Camila sent Luz to a camp to learn to fit in better, but that's where Vee found friends who also don't fit in and they didn't come out of that place as robotic functioning members of society with no imagination. I love Luz, but I also have to recognize she pulls some dangerous stunts, such as setting snakes and spiders free in her school. One of my personal battles with neurodivergence was learning other people's boundaries and learning that they don't match mine, nor should they have to match mine. I don't mind spiders, but I have friends who can't even watch a movie with spiders in it. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is Luz is a good person, but she's also learning and growing. Part of that is learning to not make assumptions and not to just rush into things without consideration of others. She's done a great job, but we viewers also have to remember she isn't always correct or right just because she's the POV character. My impression is Camila didn't want Luz to lose her imagination or be transformed into a different person. She wanted her to be able to find friends and interact with others in a way that makes her happy. Edit: Also, joining the chorus that you should consider Steven Universe. I had actually wondered if you all had already seen it but it seems maybe not? It's amazing, and the episodes are only 11 minutes long, so you could react to three episodes per reaction video very easily if you like.

What 🤯

Cosmic

Gonna hop in with recommending Steven universe! It has a very similar vibe to the owl house. In the sense it's kinda fun and goofy with sprinkled in lore. And then hits you like a truck with so much amazing storytelling. I really think you'd enjoy it. And I'd love to watch you guys theorize throughout.

Honey

STRONGLY RECOMMEND STEVEN UNIVERSE

Manic Void

I think he meant a live dissection as in live on social media, not as in Vee being alive during it. xD

Lucas Barros

Great reaction! People were hard on Camilla leading up to this mid-season finale because all we’d seen of her was in the first episode when she was trying to send Luz to that camp. I think comparing Camilla not believing Luz’s story about the Demon Realm to parents in real life not listening to their kids is a bit of a false equivalence though. Camilla thinks her daughter has been with her the entire time, and the camp is what changed her. If anyone were to hear about the Demon Realm, they would think it’s absurd because it is absurd. Also, something has attempted to kill or imprison Luz almost every episode. Camilla may not be aware of this because we don’t see how much Luz tells her, but the only knowledge Camilla has is the museum guy trying to kill V and her only child being trapped in another dimension, so Camilla wanting Luz to stay in the Human Realm isn’t completely selfish. We as the audience know the Demon Realm is dangerous, and Camilla didn’t exactly get a good impression. There’s episodes later that add to Camilla’s character and her relationship with Luz, so I’m interested in hearing your discussions when we get there.

Ahhh I just watched the finale yesterday and THAT RWBY episode and now this hit with the feels

Geneva

Just finished the series yesterday and I'm really excited to see you all finish it!

PearseNation

Unsure if you realized this or not but the basisilisk Luz met was the demon that attacked hexside on her first day.

Suplee215

I was going to suggest that, too! Steven Universe is thematically very similar so it would fit well

taco

i didnt even notice till now but at 9:36 right after luz says "just breathe and count to FIVE" thats when V's cube thing shows up, because luz unknowingly called for her by name/number.... damn

Camila best Mom 💜

So here's your Owl House Fun Fact of the day: The first widespread witch trials in the colonies were the Hartford Witch Trials, which took place throughout Connecticut (where Gravesfield is) about 30 years before Salem. Dana Terrace is also from Connecticut, and shots we see of Gravesfield map pretty directly to her hometown of Hamden, or more specifically, a suburb of it... called Amity.

Ferret

Look into Steven Universe if you both haven’t watched it yet it a good show

Imari

You guys already touched on it a bit but I love the added detail of the Luz swap just before she went to camp so Vee got a crash course in how to be a functioning human and Camilla would just think the camp was too effective and changed Luz in a way she wasn't expecting and didn't necessarily like

Corey Porter

This reaction series is going hit so much harder now. The series just finished on Saturday so yhe Fandom is hyped from that
