Yep! Apparently some people irl do have the surname “Noceda” and it means “from the walnut grove” but it’s not a common surname, and knowing how Dana Terrace does character names I still think it’s much more likely she was going for the “No ceda”/“Light does not surrender” interpretation.

2023-02-14 08:39:26 +0000 UTC“No ceda” in Spanish means “Does not cede.” “Cede” means “surrender, yield, give in.” “Noche” is the word for “night” and according to Wikipedia the etymology is, “From Old Spanish noche, from an earlier *noite, from Latin noctem, accusative of nox.” So to me it seems much more likely that her last name is the combined words, “No ceda” than it is some variation of, “Noche/Noite/Noctem/Nox.”

2023-02-13 17:01:50 +0000 UTCNoceda means night, or at least has the same root as the word for night, no idea what you're talking about here.
