I would say there are two major factors that make Misa's change a lot less drastic than Light's. First, she has a very different relationship with death going into it; she watched her parents murdered in front of her, the murderer nearly get exonerated only to be killed, and she was nearly murdered by a stalker only to watch him die in front of her. I think all that gave her a much more cavalier attitude towards life and death from the start, at least compared to a bored honor roll student. Second, Misa had it for less time and basically only ever saw/used it as a tool to find Kira. She did not however, make the Death Note her entire personality. Whether it was underlying psychosis bubbling to the surface or a coping mechanism to deal with having murdered two people, Light very much makes his entire identity about being Kira.

2023-03-06 08:28:44 +0000 UTCI disagree. My dad paid for my education, but I worked extremely hard (to the detriment of my mental health) and passed with like a 3.5 (I think, give or take). Whereas my friend pays for her own tuition and constantly drops classes and hasn’t been enrolled in the last year and a half even though she hasn’t graduated. In my opinion, it depends on the person and the situation.
