Because no one forced him to do Joker 2.

Mountain of Conflict

The first half of the first season of the OC is peak TV. It coasts and gets lost in its popularity after that.

Jeremy L

Why is no one talking about joker 2 in the same context of the hangover 2? Todd Phillips did not want to do a second hangover film, but had to because of all the success, he chose to make it but as an F U to the studio and audience and made it the exact same with a few tweaks and alot darker. It was made by someone who trolls both the studio and audience. Joker 2 is the same exact scenario where the success of the first forced him to make another one. This time, he chose to make it completely the opposite. Both are trolling F U’s to the system and audience.

Chris Fenwick

But still, the point is, you aren't relying on secondary market. You'd think a Superfan would want to get tickets as soon as humanly possiblity and not chance it.

Papool Chaudhari

Pre Sale tickets are not always cheaper they just give you access to good seats.

Peter Tribe

I blew through Nobody Wants This. One of my favorite movies is Keeping the Faith, so I feel like the show was made for me. I'm just a bit disappointed that Enrico Colantoni never showed up. 😂

FlocktimusPrime

Devindra yelling about how no one takes his TV recommendations seriously and then telling Jeff to watch The OC might be peak Devindra.

Brad Arnold

I saw Joker 2 on IMAX and thought it was fine. Not as good as the first one but not nearly as bad as everyone is saying. For the life of me I just don’t get all the negativity, it was a perfectly cromulent movie with two solid lead performances and a great score. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars.

Peter Tribe

Add The Acolyte and Matrix 4 to that list and you can see there’s a pattern. That’s ok, I think it’s healthy to have a diverse range of opinions and tastes. For me personally, I’m somewhere between Jeff and Dave and I usually don’t prioritise watching a movie or show which Devindra likes but the other two are not as positive on. If all three rave about something then I definitely check it out.

Peter Tribe

No offence to Devindra, but ever since he gave a glowing review to The Acolyte I’ve been a bit sceptical of his recommendations.

Peter Tribe

He needs to win the summer movie wager and then they’ll have no choice.

Peter Tribe

If the guys aren’t interested, they’re not interested, nothing to be done about it. Devindra might have better luck just giving them space and dropping the full court press

DarmineDoggyDoor

In the early 2000s I saw U2 play on their Elevation tour…these two IT bros directly behind me were talking loudly the whole time about work…network administration, office politics etc. They were clearly annoying everyone around them. Finally little 21YO me turned around and confronted them, said “If you’re just gonna talk, go out there!” and pointed to the concourse. They THREW their drinks down and threatened to beat the shit out of me…nobody around me had my back! which was disappointing. I was saved when “With or Without You” started & the guys actually wanted to shut up and listen to that song. Why buy expensive tickets to just talk about your stupid job the whole time? I think any concert should be treated like the symphony (except maybe punk and metal)

DarmineDoggyDoor

Fuck Fateful Findings - definitely fun, but not something that you can form a meaningful relationship with longterm Marry Megalopolis - often frustrating and full of problems but also full of interesting moments and ideas, and will be something I return to in future to reexamine with new perspective as I grow and change Kill Joker 2 - it’s terrible

Cameron Stewart

huh?

Ryan Goodwin

Can’t wait to one day be browsing YouTube and see a GQ video with Jeff called “Real Podcaster Breaks Down Iconic Podcasting Scenes”

Chris Cameron

Jeff’s best limerick

Nicholas Ewers

I feel so bad for Devindra. I swear every week he says something like, "I have been trying to get you guys to watch this show and you won't listen to me!" I see you, Devindra. I see you.

Sarah Rosenberg

11 years ago, I took my sister to her very first concert. We were seeing NIN. They have been my favorite band since 1996, she is 15 years younger than me and I got her into them and so this was really special to both of us. Unfortunately, the very drunk guy next to us decided that today was the day he was going to profess his undying love for Trent Reznor. He spent the first 2/3rds of the concert SCREAMING "I love you, Trent" at the top of his lungs. Over. And over. And over. And over again. It was horrible, and ruined my sister's first ever concert. Fortunately, at some point he got very sick, look like he was about to throw up, and ran out of the arena, never to be seen again. And we got to watch the last third of the show in peace.

Sarah Rosenberg

The end credits song that Phoenix sings is legitimately the funniest thing Phillips has done since the original Hangover. He just spent the last 130 minutes telling anyone who liked the last film or idolizes (The) Joker that they’re a massive piece of shit, but one day, they too can and will find love.

Joe Martin

The frugal thing to do would have been to buy tickets when they went on sale / pre sale.

Papool Chaudhari

Dave is also extremely frugal tho! There are two wolves inside Dave, one named Zimmer and the other Good Deal

echofar

I was thinking the same thing hearing that. He did say “from what I’ve seen so far” but excited to hear what he thought of ep 2 now

echofar

Great episode, thank you guys! Was genuinely shocked when Dave didn’t say “Goodbye” 😆

echofar

Devindra recommending Uzumaki because the 1st episode is good and not like other Junji ito adaptations. Just for the 2nd episode to come out and be terrible with awful animation and prove that all Junji ito adaptations are cursed to be bad.

Nick Clemente

I’m convinced the problem with Devindra imploring his co-hosts to watch certain shows (Evil, Bosch, Good Fight, IWTV) is that secretly they think he has terrible taste

Mark P

Love Jeff’s limerick!! ❤️

This

Devindra is out of his mind. The OC sucks now just as much as it sucked when it was out. straight up terrible show with even worse music

BH

I took Devindra’s advice on Interview With a Vampire … was a fan of the film and I love horror - also love Anne Rice. I HATED THIS

This

I walked out of the theater liking it, and then learned I was part of a very small group with that opinion.

Nervous_NRG

As dumb and derivative as Joker was, I thought the original score by Hildur Guðnadóttir (who also composed the score for Chernobyl) was phenomenal and deserved its Oscar. I still listen to it regularly and will definitely check out her score for Folie à Deux (whether or not I watch the movie).

Peter Behravesh

Joker 2, Megalopolis, and Fateful Findings. Ya gotta f*ck one, marry one, kill one. Go!

Tyler Sexton

Dave is SUCH a big fan of Hans Zimmer that he didn't buy tickets when they first went on sale?? 🤔 A Circuit City CD buying superfan would have been all over it when it was first announced and buy tickets at the first on-sale event. Maybe even a presale for Circuit City CD buying fans. 😊

Papool Chaudhari

Can’t wait to hear Devendra go off lol
