Flutter Exercise to Strengthen Hammer-ons/Pull-offs

Hi!

A fellow Patron expressed they were struggling with hammer-ons and pull-offs with Hot for Teacher.  I wanted to post this to see if this is useful to anyone else in the group.

Back when I was into Tony Iommi and Black Sabbath, I noticed that he used trills a lot in his solos.  And I read in Guitar World magazine that this exercise helped with that kind of thing.  It's called the flutter exercise and if you spend 30 seconds with each finger combination and make it part of your daily routine (5 mins per day), eventually your fingers will strengthen to the point where your hammer-ons and pull-offs will sound a lot stronger and precise.  Give it a couple of months.

It worked for me.  And in a case where the intro of Hot for Teacher has a finger stretch between fret 3 and fret 7, you can add that as a bonus to the list of exercises mentioned in the PDF listed below.  Ie. Practice your flutter exercise between fret 3 an 7 on the 2nd string (B String).

Hope this helps anyone in need.

Cheers

-Patrick
