Peace Sells

I wasn’t super familiar with Megadeth’s first two albums until recently, but diving into Chris Poland’s unique guitar style really gave me a fresh perspective on the band and a new appreciation for their early days.

There aren’t many live videos of Chris playing this song, but I managed to find a recent reunion performance with Dave Ellefson on YouTube that gave me some insight. I used that and my best judgment to piece together what he likely played on the original track. There’s a lot more footage from the Marty Friedman era onward, so I’m very confident that the positions in the tab reflect Dave’s parts accurately.

In Measure 42, I’m not sure if Chris is actually tapping — but it sure sounds cool when you do it that way, so I included it.

Measure 146 was easily the trickiest part of the whole song to transcribe. There are some subtle nuances in Chris’s playing there that might not even be humanly possible to recreate note for note.

Hope you dig the tab — let me know what you think!
