Call for livestream questions and topics
Added 2024-05-07 15:22:13 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
I hope you had a good weekend! Did you get some practice in?
As you have probably seen, I’m doing a livestream on Thursday. This is for patrons only.
What if you can’t make it because you’re too busy being a rock star? Or if the time zone doesn’t work for you? Fear not, the stream will be recorded and the video will be posted here later.
This means you don’t need to attend live to ask a question. Please ask your question right here in the comments section of this post. (This will also give me more time to think about my answer).
For example, Patreon supporter Vincent Hanna has asked for some tips on bar 149 of Creeping Death. I’ll try to help!
If you’re not comfortable using English, post your question anyway in your native language and I’ll use google translate to read it. I won’t be able to answer in your language but hopefully my guitar will do the talking for me!
Rock on!
Patrick

2024-05-09 01:41:46 +0000 UTCThe Bumblebee song is a great study on 16th note rhythm. Any other tips for not letting the pinky fly to great note qualites (evenly spaced notes for example)

2024-05-09 01:18:20 +0000 UTCThanks for hosting this! Some of your lessons provide the backing track as a single mp3 which is great to jam along with. Others have the instruments separated into their own mp3 which makes jamming along more complex. Is there a particular reason for this and is it possible to combine the separate mp3’s into a single track? Thank you.

2024-05-07 20:10:39 +0000 UTCI started learning "Flight of the Bumblebee" notes at 35 beats per minute and been gradually increasing the tempo before it gets sloppy or I break down somehow. Inevitablily, I will max out at 75% of the full speed. Do you have any tips on how to break through the barrier besides not stressing and creating tension? Or is it bad luck that I am an old crumudgen with slow twitch muscles?

2024-05-07 15:40:07 +0000 UTCOn "Flight of the Bumblebee" at measures 6, you play the B note on the E string. To, me that seems harder to play, especially at that tempo. I am curious to know the rational (if there is one) why those notes were chosen.

2024-05-07 15:35:14 +0000 UTCHello! Love the YouTube Channel. I have learned so much from your videos. Keep up the amazing work! My question is, is there anything one can practice on the guitar while healing from an overuse injury? My fretting hand is out of commission while it heals from over use, but perhaps there are picking hand exercises where fretting is not needed? I’ve been practicing some muted strings stuff, but I’m looking for other ideas. Thank you!
