Hi Friends, welcome to this month's Q&A!
In the comments of this post, I encourage you to post any questions you may have regarding producing - questions about sound design, mixing and mastering, organization, etc. Towards the end of the month, I will make a video going over as many questions as I can and demonstrating the answers for you all.
For example - say you just can't get your muddy-sounding kick to sit right in the mix. Feel free to ask me how I process mine, and I will show you exactly that. Another example - say you are struggling to get -4 LUFS out of your tracks. I will give you some tips to help you progress towards that standard. A final example - say you are curious how I made the bass sound in "Pack a Punch". I will do my best to explain that process to you!
This post is open to the public, so you don't have to be a patron to leave a question, though the video will be for patrons only. Ask away - I'm excited to begin this process to help you all!

Hey coach, do you have any tips for advertising your music on tiktok etc? Ive been wanting to do so but im not very experienced with it. Do you also have any tips on how to get an official remix? or I guess how to actually get an official remix?
2022-10-24 01:54:20 +0000 UTCHi coach, how many hours do you usually produce each day? I think, probably like you, that not only the quantity counts but also the quality of what you do. In the past, did you focus on making your songs sound better from time to time or did you spend time discovering new techniques? How much and how would you recommend investing your time in music?
2022-10-23 16:47:29 +0000 UTCAny tips/tricks for coming up with heavy drops in a melodic song? Your high remix is a perfect example of what I mean, but I'm having a hard time with making the heavy drop sound like the same song instead of 2 completely different songs in 1. Thanks :)

2022-10-18 00:09:24 +0000 UTCCoach! Not production related but I was wondering if you could give some insight in what your visuals look like when you send them out to VJ's. Are visuals BPM synced on your end, or is that something the VJ could do? Do you add any fx like strobes/etc or is that also something the VJ does on the spot? Pretty much trying to figure out what the MP4's look like when you send them over! I have experience with making stills in Cinema4D but I'm starting to get into animating and would love to start creating animated visuals for whenever I might get my first show :)
2022-10-17 20:48:07 +0000 UTCMaking my way through the videos after signing up recently, so you might have answered already, but if not: what is your opinion on arranging/mixing into compression/limiting on the master vs not and then applying it later? I work with mentors who have drastically different viewpoints, but they both make sense. I've started to find mixing into a chain to come with a loss of control, which has me leaning towards saving any mastering for the end.
