CRANKDAT ABLETON TEMPLATE 2022

WOW!! okay - LONG READ AHEAD BUT YOU NEED TO READ IT - sorry I'm excited, I can't believe I'm finally posting this.  I've been working towards this for you guys for so many months, and I'm finally at a place where I'm not only confident posting this template but I'm SO confident in it's functionality that I GUARANTEE you'll be twice as good of a producer within your first week of using it.

I get so many project files from clients that are complete shit.  No organization, no direction - and the client runs into so many issues in the creative process because of that.  I've said it before and I'll say it again... organization is the #1 key to WORKING FASTER and having CLEANER MIXDOWNS.  Working faster and having cleaner mixdowns is the key to making WAY BETTER MUSIC with HALF THE EFFORT.  If you don't believe me that is your loss - I too was stubborn in this way once - but if you trust me on this, I guarantee the $15 you spent to be able to see this post will be the best $15 you've ever spent in your life.  

This template uses a TOP to BOTTOM, LEFT to RIGHT, EXCLUSIVE organizational approach.   What does that mean?  It's simple - If the sound in your song is leftmost (coming in earlier), the channel hosting that sound should be on top.  If the sound in your song is rightmost (coming in later), the channel hosting that sound should be on bottom.  Lastly, the channels should ONLY have sounds relevant to their respective overall grouping.  What this means is that if you have a sound that is part of your INTRO, therefore housed in your INTRO GROUP, that channel should not have sound content active during the drop.   If you need that sound to be active during the drop, DUPLICATE the channel, and move the duplicate into the DROP GROUP.  You can see in the attached photos that my tracks' organization abides by this TOP to BOTTOM, LEFT to RIGHT, EXCLUSIVE organizational approach with very few exceptions - because it works!!!

Lastly it is critical to NAME and PROPERLY COLOR ALL OF YOUR CHANNELS!  This will help you with the mixing process exponentially.  Nothing wastes time more than digging around a project to find sounds that you can hear, but you don't know where it is!
