This is advice from someone who has been around the ringer in the entire societal malfunctunction known as therapy, dont do it. YOU hold the answers to your questions. What Trevor said was mostly right about you basically talking it into your own hands. Be confident and try not to let any past unresolved feelings come in the way of your happiness. It's hard but taking things one day at a time help. You got this my guy.

I had a psychologist who hardly wanted too talk about my issues and just prescribed me medication. our conversations would be like i was talking too my mums co-worker and if i said any issues id be having shed just give me more drugs. it was wildly uncomfortable

Go to a private practice Psychotherapist and make sure they have a Doctorate, psychiatrist seem more money motivated and are mainly used to prescribed meds, A psychotherapist uses talk therapy to treat people, I have one helping me deal with some trauma, I was briefly suicidal after a concussion and experiencing a lot of trauma, but I'm all better now with zero meds needed luckily. Anyway keep making good content!

Well, Jakobs therapist seems wildly unhelpful, you should probably look for a different therapist. Also, what Trevor is feeling is called optimistic nihilism. Also, I'm not a professional but if your not feeling anything except in short spurts it may be Bipolar depression. That's what I have and before medication I would feel empty for days at a time and then feel sudden emotion for a few minutes to an hour.

i had my first therapist in march and she was so incredibly strange and did hypnosis, and victim blaming. so i was like "nope". now i found a new one. but my first appointment with them has been canceled three times now :) i am losing my mind
